I really like this omnibus series and I try to buy some when ever I spot one or a set that I can afford. Recently i had a visit from Roos and while he was looking through my collection he spotted (he has the eyes of a Lynx!) a rare variety: The normal CV is ~£1.20, but this variety (kite and horizontal log) has a CV of ~£120 ! It made my day. Thanks Roos!

You are welcome mate, always enjoy looking for varieties. If I remember correctly this stamp is mint. Some good news mate. The 2013 catalogue value has gone up to £150 Roos

Thanks Roos I only have a 2010 cat. It's good to know that you have a recent one. Here is a bit of a quiz - (1) assume that I list it on eBay (not really going to) with a starting bid of 99c ...how much do you think the final bid will be? (2) If I walk off the street into a dealer's shop, how much would he/she give me for it?

I know nothing about this series but, were the stamp mine, I'd be afraid of listing it for auction on ebay at $.99 without setting a reserve.
Have you looked to see if any of this variety have sold on ebay and, if so, at what price level?
As for a dealer's purchase offer, I hope you're not easily disappointed.

Don't worry, tomiseksj I have no intention of listing it. It was just posed as a small quiz to see what people thought of "CV" values and what they thought of eBay vs dealers

I have sold a few of these Jubilee varieties on eBay. They sell at around 10% to 20% of catalogue "value".
Like the Ascension & St Helena Colony Badge varieties, there is limited demand for the Jubilee vignette flaws. That is my assessment based on price realisations. Even when in positional blocks or pieces, which are scarce, they don't even approach half catalogue price.
Great fun for flyspecking though, and I think there are many who enjoy looking for them, although they wouldn't dream of paying more than a couple of dollars for a stamp with a variety.

Exceptions are those on the Falkland Islands and Hong Kong stamps. Popular areas, bigger prices.

Thank you Perfs12, it is much as I thought. Prices in stamps, like most things are set by demand - my stamp might be the rarest but if no one wants it it will stay where it is.

Thank you zipper...I could learn to love it, that's for sure. This is my first time...not even really mine as Roos found it...fortunately he found it in my stock sheet!
