Hi Rodney I looked in Blanco and I cannot find any reference to the particular Bolivar stamp. Also I don't have anything on the coarse and fine impressions. Take a look at the articles on ASOFILCA: www.asofilca.com/There is a translation button in the upper right corner. Jerry B

Venezuela Official Stamps Steiner Pages 36 and 37 Exist: Apparently the 1899 Surcharges have been forged, I have none available at this time. Unusual both Mint and Used attract roughly the same CV for these. Look for: 1904 50c and 1b "Claret and Black" varieties. (Red Brown-Black shown)

Provisional, district of MATURIN, Ban Righ possibly Genuine, use for comparison. Estado and Correos line up at right angles. 3 transfer points, top and bottom between the flowers Mast is cut by a printing error, suggesting Transfer #3 (CORREOS [In an arc] opt is barely visible in the Overprint) Brown streaky gum (possibly toned) Comments welcomed. Hi Rodney
I also have Ad Blocker Pro and it comes up fine. I do not know how but maybe you have something else blocking that function. If you are using Chrome right click the web page proper and then click "Translate to English". It is the same translator that ASOFILCA uses. Firefox also has a translator but I believe it is an add on and from what I read it seems to use the Google Translator.

Venezuela Air 1930-1938 Airplane and Map series Steiner Pages 24 and 32 How the Postal Clerks dealt with such huge numbers of value tablets, let alone daily accounting, is a mystery.

Hi Rodney I think the arms set Scott 464-631,C338-C553 (384 stamps,Mint $3,535 Used $1,355+) is much larger. Venezuela probably has more large sets than most countries. I haven't counted, but, if the British Machins is considered a set I wonder if it is larger.

I have 79 Venezuela Air pages up to 1970, say an average of 10 stamps per page, that is 790 Air Post stamps in 50 years. The British Machin as a design set, would be well in advance of any other set, probably for all time.

The British Machin as a design set, would be well in advance of any other set, probably for all time. The Central and South American countries in general issued gobs of airmail stamps between the wars. Scott lists 289 airmail and official airmail stamps for Nicaragua. Only about 150 are listed for Venezuela, but Scott does not have separate listings for Venezuela's officials. Perfin officials were issued for all of Venezuela's airmails, as far as I know, so Venezuela may have had more airmails than Nicaragua. Venezuela's sets go on and on. Colombia issued hundreds of airmails, if you include the SCADTA consulars. El Salvador was busy, as were Honduras and Mexico. And Nicaragua and Honduras had a vast number of varieties. Is it any wonder that people quit collecting airmail stamps?

1944 Centenary of Charles Howarth Commemorative stamp set Steiner page 36 wiki The original shop at 31 Toad Lane in Rochdale in Lancashire, England opened on 21 December 1844 and was used for trading until 1867. It was re-opened in 1931 as the Rochdale Pioneers Museum and again reopened in 2012 after renovations costing £2.3 million.

That must fit the definition of masochistic. I know of a few airmail specialists. But we're down to a small core. There once was a huge interest in airmails. Well before our time, though.

Hi Ed
Colombia SCADTA is probably the most active area. The collections of Alex Rendon and Debby Friedman were great. I haven't seen any of the new generation exhibits of Santiago Cruz and others.

Reviving this thread Working on my Venezuela collection. Stuck on these 3 "timbre fiscal" (revenues I would think). Read the 4 pages of this old thread.....all or most of the images are gone and did not see "timbre fiscal". Just thought a member could help me. Scott does not ! Thanks - René p.s. I note in an ad for the 2017 Scott Specialized cat. that these stamps have been added.

Hi renden
I do not find them in my Venezuela Blanco catalog or my Minkus catalog. However, Blanco lists these stamps overprinted in 1926 (Blanco 138-139). The lisitng heading states that these are Fiscal Stamps of 1922-1923.
Hope that helps a little.
