This series no doubt will be familiar to most people and for some time now I have been looking for a set at a reasonable price
I am able to report my goal has now been achieved but........ A little bit of research shows that there is more to the series then meets the eyes
Below picture is the vendors but when I get them in my hands I will post a much better one
The first stamps in the series were released January 1953
For more detailed information on the series I suggest you look at the following links whihc are very informative
www.stampcollectingblog.com/portuguese-cavalinho-stamps.php
www.stampsoftheworld.co.uk/wiki/Portugal_1953_Definitives_-_Medieval_Knight
As an aside when looking at the series the most expensive "values" of the series are the 90c, 1.40e, 2.30e, 20e and 50e and you can understand why when looking at the numbers printed for each of these values 90c - 862.400 1.40e - 690.400 2.30e - 1.200.000 20e - 720.000 50e - 180.000

These are my four favorite colours. The black shows design detail very well.

Aha! must be the paper then. Thanks huckles. Nice link, although it irritates me when people watermark their scans (Ugh!)
