Thank you all very much for the info... I actually inherited a bunch of stamps from my grandfather... they are from all across the world. India,Argentina,Pakistan,Trinidad,Russia,Columbia,Kongo,Yugoslavia,Germany, Slovenia,... I am looking to find out its value, maybe prepared to sell some, but i am new in this waters so i would be glad if someone could help me - direct me to a page for evaluating stamps or evaluate those stamps on his own and of course hes got a pre-emptive right for maybe buying a particular one ;-)

Hi Rodney, Here is an extract from one of my tables. It is Scott based and the values are from 2002. Sorry I do not have pictures of the Watermarks but I tried to describe them. Minkus 1980 Eagle-Man, with Eagle headdress. His flight in religious ceremony represents Aztec Bird-God. The set containing this issue was issued for President Cardenas' assumption of office. Hi Steve
If possible I would also appreciate a PDF copy. I just finished a lot of Mexico for my friend's store and I wish I had some of the info. It will come in handy as he just bought a couple of collections and guess what, more Mexico.
Please E-mail to jerrybemail-stamps 'at" yahoo 'dot' com.
Thanks.

Are any members able to explain this stamp please? Sc#O11 ? I make it an Official, postmarked 1897, ergo, must be Scott style A20 (Letter carrier) , and 2c Carmine. I cannot recall ever seeing a colour changeling, Light or chemical, changing a Carmine stamp to Bistre? Comments welcomed.

Interesting. The handstamp is upside-down compared to approximate "normal".
The non-overprinted 2c stamp is known in a color green error. But I have never seen it, so I'm not sure if the green is comparable to the 1c stamp, or closer to yellow green. Either way, to get from that, you stamps would have to have changed from green.
Sorry, I don't have any specialized catalogs for Mexico. And I wasn't able to find anything comparable in Forbin.

Green can detiorate to Bistre, but I think I am asking a lot to think the overprint was on an error stamp. (The green pigment can disappear) I have been remiss, havn't check my Stanley Gibbons as yet. Being a handstamp, the inverted Opt is understandable. At the moment just assuming a chemical alteration, however the print and the postmark don't appear to have faded via bleach. Red in my experience Red usually changes to black in a changeling (eg early Germany).

khjHi Kim, Open finding, but I shall mount it as a colour changeling official Sc#O11 Watermark : No watermark evident Perforation? possibly 12 but a guestimate Postmarked 1897 Gibbons do not list opt on the 2c green error (unwatermarked) (which was 1898 a year later than the postmark) Gibbons evidence the overprint angled and inverted as mine. As Maxwell Smart would say..."I was THAT close, 99"

Thanks for the additional info, Rod.
Alas, they have replaced the shoephone with the cellphone, and the cone of silence with text messaging... not to go off topic, but thanks for bringing back some childhood memories.

Do any of our members know of online resources (preferably free) that help to identify the sprawling Architecture and Archaeology series of Mexico? This is the definitive/airmail series which was printed from 1950 to 1975. Scott is not particularly easy to work with. I am hoping someone has created a spreadsheet or flowchart for identifying perfs, printers, papers and watermarks. I attempted to put one together myself from Scott but gave up. Also, Admin , is it possible to separate the Mexican revenue stamps from this post and create a separate thread called Mexico: Revenue Stamps? I have a number of them that I would like to share myself and it seemed logical to have a separate thread for them given all that are posted on this more general thread.
