The Scott Specialized lists brown, dark brown, yellow brown, orange brown and red brown with no differences in value.

Thank you Steve! Just the search more than covers any catalog value in my opinion!~ Great stuff!!

Jeff, let me add another item to your excellent thread. Received this today as part of an online trade. 1906 SC#314 imperf with what appears to be part of a Schermack perf on the right. Though, having just typed that, I guess if it has a Schermack perf, then it's not imperforated is it. Though the Schermack perfed stamp of this issue is listed in the Scotts Specialized as 314 as well. Confusing!

Here's some head scratchers I've had kicking around for a few decades. Even though the margins look pretty convincing I've never bothered to check them out. never could figure out how the 5 cent pair ever came into being. Can't help wondering if someone perfed a used imperf pair.

I only see 2 obvious fakes above but the rest look good fro what I can see. These are valuable as you already know but frequently faked. Nice looking lot!

Jeff, curious to see what ones you think look good and which ones obvious fakes. Methinks, "Valuable" a bit of an understatement. The first two, 1 cent Green, cat for $115,000 mint and are unlisted used. Next three cat for $250,000 used and $450,00 mint. The horizontally perfed 2 cent is not listed in used. The 5 cent is unknown perfed vertical. These came from a very old collection but I doubt I'll ever get that lucky.

Wow...that's a nice collection of (faked?!) coils!!
Top row: 1st (Franklin) & 4th (Wash) are poorly done fakes. Look at right perfs on the Franklin & the bottom edge of the Wash...
The 2nd & 3rd stamps are better done, but still look fake to me. On both, the left & right side perfs appear to be different, which is a large red flag...
2nd Row: 1st stamp another badly done fake. Look at top left edge...
The 2nd (horizontal wash) again has strange/different perfs. Right edge looks a bit wavy. Two black dots on left edge?? (Part of cancel?) Need better pic...
I'll take a shot at the 5c lincoln pair: looks like a top-edge pair with the bottoms cut. Would love to see a better pic, on white background, of the top edge & the bottom edge of the right stamp. (What is that mark on bottom edge, below the 'I' in five?? Looks like a stray perf remnant to me...)
But definitely stamps you want to check carefully!! You never know if you don't check?!

I'm not sure how I ever missed this last post of A-ra's but that's pretty much what would I would say as well mdroth. The first one on the top I thought looked the most convincing but look at the re-perforation job on the right hand side of it. Most are pretty sloppily done and you can see the old perforations if you look close. They wasn't trimmed real straight or with much care. I wish they was real.

Actually I'm thinking that those Lincoln coils and the 2 two cent redesigns are legit.

Hi
Curiosity struck. Did a Google for adenitis - inflammation of a gland; especially lymphadenitis inanition - the exhausted condition that results from lack of food and water
In today's world the man would probably have survived with all the medications we have available. Sad.
Jeff: Not a US collector but very interesting thread. Enjoyed reading and I learned something new.
