On April 8, 1957, Chile issued its only parcel post postal tax stamp, a 15 peso, green, perf. 14 stamp (Scott QRA1) marking the death centenary of Chilean President José Joaquín Prieto Vial, a key figure in Chile's struggle for independence. Per the note in the Scott catalog, "the surtax aided the Prieto Foundation" and "QRA1 was required on parcel post entering or leaving Chile."
