Here's another cinderella recently found. This one was issued in Switzerland in aid of Hungarian refugees. I wonder when the issue date was. Ryan

These are Swiss Army stamps showing various regiments and battalions, first issued during World War I when Switzerland ensured that its borders were well defended should any country try to take a shortcut through Switzerland. National Service was compulsory on a part-time basis over several years. The stamps were initially issued locally for charitable purposes. Later they were issued by all regiments and sold to the public to raise funds for the families of the soldiers. They were used on mail to denote free postage although there was no obligation to do so since forces mail was free anyway. There were about 400 issued during WWI and over 2000 issued during WWII. They exist both with and without perforations. This first picture shows 5 on piece with Feldpost postmarks plus one stamp from WWI: Swiss Army 2 by Daniel, on Flickr This second scan shows a general selection, used from WWII Swiss Army by Daniel, on Flickr

The Geneva International Motor Show, Salon International de l'Automobile Genève, is an annual event for the motor industry held since 1905. Taking into account World War I and World War II, this year, 2020, would have been the 90th show but it was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2021 show has also been cancelled and so it is next scheduled for 2022. This sheet marked the 100th anniversary in 2005. Salon Car Centenary by Daniel, on Flickr

During World War II, the Swiss took their role of being neutral very seriously. Over 100,000 soldiers, from 38 countries (mainly French, Italian and Polish), were interned across Switzerland. As was the case during World War I, as long their respective governments paid, they were allowed to stay in hotels but for those countries not willing to pay, their soldiers and airmen (and also anyone caught escaping) would be sent to internment camps. To help pay for these camps, souvenir/lottery cards. such as the one below, were sold. This one is for Camp Pfaffnau where Polish prisoners were interned. Special stamp in Polish and French for 1940. The lottery was scheduled for 6th December 1942. Scan_20210201 (2) by Daniel, on Flickr Scan_20210201 (3) by Daniel, on Flickr

Do any of our members have a familiarity with these? They are offered on eBay currently and are described as follows: "Poster stamps insects musicians cricket grasshopper cigalle dragonfly bumblebee" "POSTER STAMPS INSECTS MUSICIANS CRICKET GRASSHOPPER CIGALLE DRAGONFLY BUMBLEBEE SOUNDS NESTLE This is a marvellous set of 10 poster stamps edited by Swiss firm Nestlé-Peter-Cailler-Kohler Chocolate. The set belongs to the series Nature and its Secrets edited in the middle 1950s and represents series n. 52 which theme is about insect musicians. The collection is complete which add to the extreme difficulty of having all of them stay together after all this time. The stamps are made of thin paper with dimension 2.28 x 3.14 inches for the big ones and 1.6 x 2.2 inches for the others with text in French, German and Italian on the rear." For their age, they seem to be in very good condition but, also, the price seems to good to be true. I am not typically a cinderella collector except what might come in collections I purchase, however, at least one of these fits within the topical I am collecting and they are attractive to me regardless so I may purchase them.

Darrin, darkormex these are examples of Swiss (not France) chocolate Cinderellas. They were given away with chocolate bars by various chocolate companies, in this case the amalgamated Nestle, Peter, Cailler, Kohler company. There are posts on these in various threads on this forum, most recently Cinderella Topical: Chocolate and chocolate related. Cards were also issued. The historical ones seem to sell better than insect related so the price for these seems about right. They were collected in albums of up to 26 sets. Daniel

daniel ,thank you for your help with this. I was looking for this type of input. I based my posting in this thread on the assumption that the seller, being in France, was selling French poster stamps. Later I realized the items themselves were actually Swiss. Beryllium Guy , when you get a chance can this be moved to the correct thread here? thestampforum.boards.net/post/130106/threadThe seller sent me an offer which I think I will accept based on what you have said.

A nice promotional sheet from Helio-Courvoisier, famous Swiss stamp printers. Circa 2001 they were acquired by Walsall Security Printers but appear not be around anymore.
