For years, Swedish 8 öre Oscar II regulars like this defied me. It's partially a numbers thing. Last of the Oscar II series to come out, starting 1903, only 16.9 million printed, compared to 1.1 billion of the letter rate 10 öre. It filled a peculiar niche; discount rate for printed matter. Why so scarce? The 50 öre from the same series was printed in just about the same quantity and that's much easier to find cancelled, in the quality I like.
But trust market weirdness to chime in. In the last year I've bought a few really good ones. Newest below. The gap still mystifies me; sudden trickle even more. Interesting, checking my collection, this is the only 8o stamp I have. Nice to know the usage. Both scans are from 2009, cannot explain the change in clarity. Sweden Typography to Intaglio
Why so scarce? Perhaps "Printed matter" usage ? newspapers, periodicals, example stamps on printed matter were discarded in contrast to stamps on personal letters etc?

The stamps are inherited and I have not identified them if they are genuine/forgeries.

They look kosher. Nothing stand-out suspicious. The oval cancel on the bottom row 20 öre is new to me. Maybe a private railroad cancellation?

Your scans are great. The stamps really are different. The printer struggled with the copper plate process. Took a while before they figured how to get the plates to clean properly, unless the staff really took their time, which they generally did only for the high values. Resulted in a smeary look that I like a lot.
Also different shades/nuances.
No doubt you're right about printed matter wrappers torn viciously by unloving hands. (I imagine a 12-year-old boy gathering everything at the station, running to mama's corner shop, and stripping the papers for sale before he gets beaten.)

Thank you @kasvik. I know nothing about forgeries of these stamps. The only advantage is that they have comb.perforation.
