For zipper (and any others who might be interested), the 1915 Forbin revenues catalogue is available on archive.org at this link. You can download a PDF copy to keep on your computer, if you choose. Ryan

Gorgeous, Rod. France are my favorite stamps! zipper Thank you Zipper. Let us know if you want duplicates, however I find France either pristine, or grungy, my 1876 - 1959 are grungy but you are welcome to free duplicates I have a good cross section of the "La Sameuse" available free. Just holler. PS: I agree with you, France would be one country that stands out with consistant quality, lovely stamps. I have a collection of unsorted circa year 2000 and they have gone the self stick, cartoon route.

I'd love the duplicates, and I'll give away here any I might already have. Right. I'll get them off tomorrow, Warning: they are not checked or sorted, just items dropped into a cover willy-nilly there are grunge, mint and duplication, sometimes 20 of 1 stamp. It's now your problem If you have a problem with ID, just post an image, I have a database of images.

Sorting your "Marianne de Gandon" There are 50 stamps in the basic challenge, Sc#548-552 are engraved (a little larger) Prefix "P" are your precancels. I hope I have the colours correct, early France are a little intimidating. Thanks Reena for a few better examples, I'll past the rest to Zipper. Note: the difference between the 15f #602 and #614 (Perforation change) Flyspeckers will note #602 has two types, via the hair shading right of Marianne's cheek.

France, 1968 The 650th Anniversary of Papal Enclave - Valréas France-1968-The650thAnniversaryofPapalEnclave-Valréas by Mick Taylor, on Flickr From the the wikipedia entry on Valréas: The area around the town of Valréas is known as L'Enclave des Papes. It is an enclave of Vaucluse, surrounded by the department of the Drôme. The foundation of the Enclave began in 1317 when Pope John XXII bought Valreas for the papacy of Avignon. The story goes that following a visit to Valreas, feeling unwell he was offered some wine from the area. Liking it he decided to purchase the town to ensure his wine supply. Over the next 150 years or so his successors added to the Enclave by the addition of the small towns of Visan, Richerenches and Grillon. The boundaries were defined by tall stone markers carrying the coat of Arms of the Popes. The present day boundaries are still delimited by some of these stones, one of which is outside the entrance to the Valreas Tourist office. When the departments of France were created after the Revolution the people of the Enclave requested to remain as part of the department of Vaucluse (see Comtat Venaissin). Hence the "Enclave des Papes".
