Not sure what you are seeing, Mr Frog. There is a thick border, and a thinner inner border (the thin vertical line butting against the horizontal shading lines). My copies have the same lines. Is there another line I'm not seeing? Your right side copy does look slightly under inked.

If you look at horizontal lines in the spandrell you'll see they either end open or are closed by a vertical line the dozen or so copies I looked at were almost half half I assume it's an mid run re touch. Most noticable at bottom where it comes to point.

I have only two 5ยข blues to look at and both have a pretty strong vertical line. Your bottom specimen does appear to have a weaker or broken vertical line on my monitor. Similar to the numeral issues you examined I suspect it's a case of plate wear or inconsistent impressions.

I firmly believe this should rate one of those sub-letters they like to list.Be it plate wear,re-touch or incomplete impression. It should be at least mentioned, no??

So I have tried weakly to move on from the admirals but now I'm stuck in the queens both the leafs and numerals. OCD ?? I am proud I managed to set the eddys aside though. Alright I confess I'm looking at a few admirals today. If I keep on I'll probably qualify as an A student on this issue. How many do you have you ask?? Thousands !!!

Further research has revealed the line seen at top of the 1 cent green #67 is indeed a guide line.I do like to label things when I mount them, hopefully someone in the future appreciates that.

Thanks for your input jimjung. I've become gun shy labeling re-entries so I post scans instead and hope for input from others like yourself.

Wow, I'm impressed! This is a level of detail on these stamps that I have never explored. I have been working on an unused set, and I am still missing the 5-cent value.
Well, I just tried to upload an image from my laptop, and that doesn't seem to be an option. The window wants me to supply a URL. Can anyone explain to me how to upload an image from my computer?
For the avatar, it gave me the option to browse my hard drive, but in the post, it does not seem to do that.

I just looked in the "Help" area to try to figure out how to do add an image to my post, and it is telling me to use a feature called "Add Attachment", but I am not finding that. I am only seeing "Insert Image" which isn't helping me, since it wants a URL. Sorry if I am being dense about this!

We've reached our storage limit for attachments and images and it is cost-prohibitive to purchase additional storage via Proboards. As a workaround, we have opted to use offsite image hosts such as Photobucket for images. This thread on the FAQ board should help.

As long as I am now getting started posting photos of some of the stamps in my collection, I thought I would post a picture of this set, as I mentioned to Kirk in the Jubilee issue thread. I am also trying to get a well-centered, sound, unused set of the Leaf Queens issue. In the photo, you can see that I am still missing an unused copy of the 5-cent value. I have put a used copy in its place, but I am still working on replacing that one.

Nice stamps you have there Beryllium Guy.When I first started Canada as a much younger soul I was mail ordering stamps MNH. Today I am very thankful for that decision. Much of my stuff is valued at prices I could not now afford.Of course the hunt continues for the elusive few left to complete basic Canada.I too am envious of those nice Jubs,I only have the short set in mint.Share some more of your collection I'm sure some of the other countries you collect will also reflect your good eye.

Thank you so much for the kind comments, First Frog! I do the best I can with the resources I have available. I am always on the lookout for attractive-looking stamps, especially on centering, but have decided not to spend the big money on MNH copies.
I can relate on some level to your comments about what you did as a younger soul! My father, who started me in collecting in 1967 but had long since stopped by the time he started me, told me to collect "only mint, complete sets". In the 1970s, when I was still young, I did exactly that. But at the time, I collected all eras, thinking that the proliferation of new stamp issues would not be so onerous that I could not keep up with them.
How wrong I was! Unfortunately, most of the mint, complete sets that I acquired were well after 1940, and most much later than that. If you foresaw what MNH stamps would become in terms of value, and sought out ways to acquire pre-1940 issues in that condition, then I absolutely salute you! You were a visionary, unlike me....
By the time I decided that I could no longer keep up with new issues, and decided to limit myself to the classic issues only, MNH stamps had already begun to rise to items commanding premium prices. The older stamps you seek, the harder it is to find them in MNH condition, as I am sure you already know. That is exactly why they get the catalogue values and prices which they currently do.
So, I decided to go for "eye candy" with the provision that at least the stamps had to be sound. I try to avoid thinned, or otherwise damaged stamps. But I admit that my set will never achieve the ultimate value that a MNH set would.
Since I am a pre-1930 worldwide collector, rather than a specialist, it is the only chance I think I have to put a dent into making a real collection of that. If I were to specialize in Canada, for example, then I might have gone after well-centered MNH Jubilee and Leaf Queen sets, since it might have taken me 25 years to put those together!
Anyway, thanks, First Frog!
