1927 Sc#232 30 paisas Prussian Green? (Perhaps these are colour changelings, looks "chalky blue" to me ) Gibbons : Blue-Green. Normally found imperforate on 1 side. Perf 11 Postmarked Kabul 2nd Sept 192? DEPART ? many countries show this on their CDS (circular date stamps) Anyone know the significance? Perhaps to distinguish between a receiving mark?

What an extraordinary document, Jaysee. Many thanks. The depth of knowledge is staggering. Kudos to you for finding the information from a non-searchable document. That's hard work. A keeper. Confirms the colour as OK, and the alignment of the cliches to be a bit wacky, as standard.

Afghanistan sure has some fascinating stamps. Here's a few I like in the way they reflect the sometimes brutal history of the country. The Buddha statue in Bamian from the 1932 set. Although the Buddha statue could be considered as one of Afghanistan's unique cultural monuments the stamp had to be withdrawn after protests from the Muslim community. And again, now from the 1951 set. Same story: the stamp was withdrawn. And finally a 2002 issue: the statue has been destroyed by the Taliban.......
