Tolima Originally a State. Now a department of Colombia. A few bits and pieces. The 4c 1903 looks imperforate, but is a regular Perf12 with blind perforations.

From what I can see. It looks more like a sewing machine perf. The holes look too close to be perf 12, but I could be wrong. If you wish, e-mail me a larger scan. According to Barriga:Row 1, position 1 Issued 1879 to 1894 Lithographed 5c |
| violet brown | white paper | violet brown | bluish paper | brown | white paper | brown | bluish paper | orange | issued 1883/1884 |
Row 3 Issued 1888-1902 Lithographed Perf 10.5, 11, 12, 13.5 White and colored papers Row 4 & 5 Perf 12, imperf, sewing machine perf White and colored papers FYI: The early Colombia and States can drive one nuts with the colored papers. Jerry B

Thanks Jerry, exceptional information, as usual Checked, definitely Perf 12 blind perfs visible left and right, however top and bottom, none discernible. 4c Designer J. E. Lenher. Litho R Ronderos, Bogota. Checking the Math, the stamp design is 23mm high, with 14 blind punctures, ergo 14x20 divided by 23 = perforation of 12.17 PS: Love the 5c 1871 design, the way the "5" is incorporated into the entire stamp design, fabulous.

Hi Rodney
I agree, perf 12 but with reservations because of the frame lines.
Early Colombia issues come in all flavors: Perforated Imperforated Sewing Machine perforations Imperforated between Horizontal Vertical White paper Colored paper
and then some.

Thinking of JerryB, one of nature's true gentlemen Funny, I always imagined Jerry was in his 30's, his correspondence was always witty. We registered on TSF within 4 days of each other (2013) He wrote the software for my North American Auctions alarms / reminders. He wrote many specialised papers for my south American studies. Thoughts go to his partner. A pleasure knowing you, my friend. Yep! No "U" in Colombia
