The Young Philatelic Leadership Fellowship is celebrating its sixth year, having successfully recruited promising young philatelists from all parts of the U.S. to showcase our hobby.
Today, I received a request from APS to share information regarding the YPLF with our Chapter membership in an effort to help identify future candidates and encourage them to submit their applications.
The Young Philatelic Leaders Fellowship provides enriching and dynamic experiences in the philatelic world for Junior (ages 13 - 17) and Senior (ages 18 - 25) Fellows.
Junior and Senior Fellows pursue one of three tracks: dealer, exhibitor or author (tracks are selected after the orientation at the APS StampShow in August).
Fellowship activities include:
If you know of someone between the ages of 13 and 25 that would make a good Fellow, recommend them by submitting their name on this online form.
You may also pass along information about YPLF to young collectors and their families using the YPLF brochure and application forms. Your encouragement may be the catalyst for them to apply.
The deadline for applying for the incoming class of YPLF Fellows is April 30, 2015.
YPLF also needs money and philatelic materials to continue to grow -- the many ways to support youth participating in YPLF are outlined here.
