What I collect: Worldwide Stamps, Ephemera and Catalogues

I have to constantly jump between Photobucket and TSF
I use the quick launch links in the top bar. If I load a new link (say I am in TSF and I click on Photobucket) TSF disappears, and PB loads
Is there a way to load any new links in a new tab AUTOMATICALLY ?
I realise one can do it by right clicking the link, and select option "open in a new tab" but is there any regedit fix to use 1 click?
Thanks

Hi Rod, Very likely there's some registry hack for it, but you can achieve it much easier with extensions. For example Click to Tab does it.

Hi Rodney Found a way to do it. Just do a CTRL CLICK on the link (i.e. hold down the CTRL key and Click the link). It is better than opening a RIGHT-CLICK menu and selecting "Open link in new tab". Here is a website giving steps to install the CHROME extension mentioned by scb: smallbusiness.chron.com/open-new-tab-clicking-google-chrome-63612.htmlJerryB Jerry ! I genuflect That is the most amazing solution...Thanks, thanks! Dashed developers, most times they show great intelligence, other times utter stupidity. I am sure in XP a click on a link would open a new tab. Now this Chrome stuff, a simple "sort" on favourites, has become after ridiculous navigation to.... "reorder alphabetically" What! Thanks also to Scb, that stuff has opened a whole new world to me, I tried "click a tab" but it didn't work

I must be trying to 1 click opening from a bookmark, (I have my FAV bookmarks in a row, top of screen) that's why "click to tab" it doesn't work I'll use CTRL click. A users post.... I thought this would be a relief since it appeared to fix one of Chrome's most annoying behaviors. Unfortunately, Click to Tab doesn't work in all circumstances, such as opening from a bookmark. So, you have to remember how to work it. So it only adds another thing you have to remember. So it's uninstalled. Since no other new tab extension provides even this simple subset of FF's Tab Mix Plus, I imagine the problem is in Chrome.

Hi Rodney Excuse Me!!! That is really "biting the hand that feeds you" The reason software developers and designers have flat foreheads Nope! CHROME is CHROME on any operating system; XP, Win 7 or Win 8. You still have to do a CTRLl-CLICK on XP. Jerry B

Sorry Jerry. I am almost certain I was using one click in XP. Anyhows, I have 2 options now, using scb's Library of magical apps, I have loaded "Bookmark Manager" It sits peacefully top left corner screen, on boot up, I can use it to launch my top 5 favs all at once. or, select any one of 100 or so bookmarks. Probably CTRL click will be the most used option.

Hi Rodney
I have some links opening in new tabs and others not. Have to check out why, or why not.
To open a "bunch" of tabs on CHROME startup go to: settings | On startup | Open specific pages | set pages. You can add URLs (bookmarks) which will open those defined web pages on startup.
Also, to go from page to page without the mouse, just do: CTRL TAB (note windows uses ALT TAB).

Clicking the middle mouse button on links opens them in new tabs. That is what I have been doing for years.

I am having problems with scanner and digital microscope.Seems plugs are not good connections any suggestions ?? With brevity, try and enumerate your symptoms, and see if we can nut it out. What Operating system? what amount of memory? If you do not know, download and intall "speccy" and it will tell you all about your machine www.piriform.com/speccy

When I go to my pictures scanner and camera were showing up now I get prompt saying they're not connected. Seems a connection problem is there, I suspect the pins in the plugs are gunked up maybe? I had everything working then they just stopped.Nothing to do with operating system or memory. not sure how to clean connections or what product to look for or use.

Have an open mind. "Pins and plugs" are these USB's? It may be, you have a USB card error, or the wires have been compromised.

Not uncommon, I have 1 usb not working on my box, never has. With care, and with the machine off, check the wire inside the box, where it links to the USB socket on the frame, then chase it back to where the wire hits the main board / motherboard, and check that connection. ( a click plug) Make sure you do not have static when touching mainboard. Try using USB sticks you have lying around to see how they work.

You probably have the User Manual but, if not, you can access it here. You may need to reinstall the HP Officejet software. Have you tried the HP Director, Help, Troubleshooting and Support function (see p.149)?

Okay for the record I got it to work again simply by cleaning connections carefully with cotton swabs and alcohol along with good dust removal and a reboot. My experience is mechanical things benefit from lube and electrical things benefit from cleaning. Thanks for your support I'm not tech savvy but try to make things work.It usually takes me awhile to figure it out but works in the end.(knock on wood)
