Hi firstfrog. I don't want to rain on your parade but.......those don't look like re-entries to me. I rather suspect that each is an example of dry inking where the ink has not adhered to the stamp.
Re-entries always result in ink being added to the stamp - not taken away.

If you examine the first two the top of the c clearly shows a shift in the inking downward the last I concur still an interesting example with the strange wiggly white over S.You can rain anytime but please at this time don't SNOW.

Here is the listed re-entry on the 1c Arch: This one not listed on the 2c Arch - look at the left 2, not a re-entry but a funny mark.

I'm not quite sure what we're looking at here. In an effort to expand my philatelic knowledge, can someone please explain what a re-entry is and what exactly is shown on these stamps? Thank you!

What I collect: My main collecting area is focused on Canadian stamps printed from steel engraved plates. Specifically re-entries and constant plate varieties.

I agree with GJP the red stamps do not show a definite re-entry and are dry printings. The 1c green with the line in top of right one and top of CENTS is the major re-entry listed in the catalog. It can also be found on the 1c Yellow as well. The 2 cent green may be an ink pull or foreign debris on the plate during printing.

Clearly a case of worn plate.Kind of creates a different variety.Notice the crescent in the pearl becomes a missing detail.#172.

You students of Canadian issues may want to consider a study of this issue #191 the surcharged stamp. Here is my copy of 191iii the period after the "3".

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

With the recent posts about carta ricongiunta/paste ups I thought I should refresh my memory of what I had in my Canadain coil issues. I had first thought these were paste up strips but they are actually line strips. The line was created due to being printed on rotary presses which print from two identical curved plates fastened to opposite halves of the rotary cylnder. The line of colour appears between the end stamps of the two plates because ink would build up there. This occured on Unitrade 178-183 and 205-207. Later issues the problem had been corrected. The orange .01 strip is listed as Unitrade 178i as a line pair. It would be a shame to reduse it to just a pair so I left it as 4. The green .02 is listed as Unitrade 180iii line strip of 4 with 3 normal and 1 Cockeyed King at the left of the line. The brown .02 is listed as Unitrade 182iii line strip of 4 with 3 normal and 1 Cockeyed King at the left of the line. Once again I left the 5th stamp as it would be a shame to shorten the strip. The photo may not pick up the eye variety but they are there in both .02 strips. This variety never occured on the .01 orange.

In todays mail was this line strip of 4 with 'Cockeyed King' Unitrade 181iii. The strip is mint but the stamp at the far right was hinged. It was nice to fill that gap in my Canadian collection.

The 10 cent Library (Unitrade 173) has a couple of known varities. My MNH pair includes one normal along with a 'missing spire' variety (Unitrade 173i) on the right. Hopefully the scan will be clear enough to see the difference.
