Sometime back, someone (I believe it was Firstfrog) posted a picture of the Charles Connell stamp, New Brunswick 5. It was a forgery, if I remember correctly. Anyway, while going through a Sandafayre auction, I ran across this copy: In case you want to bid, Sandafayre estimates that £3,500 to £4,000 will take it. Their estimates are usually high. However, Scott values this stamp at $12,500. I wonder what Connell would think?

Looks like surface scratch below beard.Hope they don't hold out for that price.I'm going to re-examine my copy under microscope. After seeing a couple pictures mine doesn't look so bad after all.Not a known forgery as far as I've been able to tell. What is it?? Don't know but it could be real.My best guess is printers proof not seen before.

Check it at greenefoundation.ca/expertizing_and_fees.htmlIf your stamp is genuine, it could be quite valuable. Typically, if a stamp is counterfeited, Scott includes a warning. In the case of this stamp, it does not. Unitrade also does not have a warning.

Frog here is your stamp I wonder if vggvp would be kind to take a quick glance. I understand that a higher res image is needed but please understand the technical limitations of some members.
