Air Mail - Part 1
Fourth SCADTA issue June 4, 1923 Scott C38 - C50, CF1 Provisional Issues October 30, 1923 Scott C51 - C52 Mendez Commemorative Issue December 28, 1928 Scott C53 - C54 Sixth SCADTA Issue June 1, 1929 Scott C68 - C79, CF3 Note: Some of these issues have the interleaving paper still attached to the back of the stamp. I have been told that it doesn't detract from the value but, of course, no interleaving is better. What I have been told is that because of the Colombia climate, it was decided to insert some type of paper between the stamp sheets so the sheets did not stick together. The sheets did not stick to each other but to the interleaving. There are sets without any interleaving. Simon Bolivar Issue December 15, 1930 Scott C80 - C812 Regular Air Issue August 1, 1932 Scott C96 - C110, CF5 Cartegena Issue December 30, 1933 Scott C111 - C114 Missing Barriga 515a Double Surcharge, Barriga 515b Triple Surcharge Provisional Issue Scott C115 - C120a Missing Scott C117a, Scott C117b, Scott C119a First Avianca Issue January 8, 1941 Scott C121 - C133 November 3, 1945 Scott C134 - C144 Avianca issue - New colors July 21, 1948 Scott C151 - C163 Lansa Air Lines Scott C166 - C174 Lansa Airlines Philatelic First Flight Cover Jerry B

(2) Erroneously called the monkey fountain. the word Mono is a small monkey and also a small impish little boy. Having been there, the figure in the fountain is definitely a little boy. Various Colombia locations and monuments Scott C249 - C253 Note: (1) Continuation of set on previous page (2) Around 1959 the Air Mail rates were consolidated. No special rates for any of the Colombian airlines. Stamps from this set and other sets were overprinted with a small airplane and the word Unificado (unified) to be used for Air Mail on existing lines. The overprinted stamps are Scott C322 - C346, issued between 1959 and 1960.

Hi firstfrog2013 Don't waste a whole lot of time. Debbie Friedman once told me that the Canadian Consular Overprints are the most difficult to obtain and some may even be non-existent. She said that she knew of someone who tried to collect all of them but failed because of the Canadian overprints. Auction of Debbie's SCADTA by Cherrystone: Ca CoversFrom the 1984 Temprano catalog is a list of the relative value of each Ca item in 1984. Maybe it will give you a clue to the relative scarcity of an item 1984 Base Value = 200pTemprano | Value | Multiplier | 110 Ca1 | 5c | 1 | 111 Ca2 | 10c | 1 | 111 Ca2a | 10c double Ca | 20 | 112 Ca3 | 15c | 1 | 113 Ca4 | 20c | 1 | 114 Ca5 | 30c | 1 | 115 Ca6 | 50c | 2 | 116 Ca7 | 60c | 3 | 116 Ca8 | 1p | 15 | 117 Ca9 | 2p | 20 | 118 Ca10 | 3p | 40 | 119 Ca11 | 5p | 50 | 120 Ca12 | 20c R | 10 |

I know they are pricey if they can be found.I love your air mail stuff. Firstfrog: I have been tracking consular issues for years in auctions, just in case I ever have any money! I have records of three auctions of the Canada issues. All include CLCA1-11, plus CFLCA1 (registration stamp). All are mint, and apparently hinged. I didn't mark any of them NH. Had they been NH, they probably would have been 50-100 percent higher. Anyway, the three lots and their sale prices: Harmer, 1/11/10 -- $1,250 Maresch, 2/7/10 -- $1,550 Siegel, 6/26/14 -- $4,250 I can't account for the higher Siegel price. Maybe they were NH, and I failed to note that. Or, maybe a couple people really wanted them, and the bidding got out of hand. I doubt their value rose so much in four years. Regardless, these stamps are pretty spendy. Over the years, I have purchased several consular sets. They're on my site. I RARELY see the handstamped varieties offered. All of mine are the later, machine-overprinted types. One could certainly deplete his/her savings accumulating these issues.

Hi Ed
I don't think even Debbie had a set of the Ca consulars.
