On Monday I'll be winging my way to the UK for 3½ weeks and will be out of action and away from Internet connections [for the most part]. I will take the time out to go to the Palace and give Her Majesty a pat-on-the-back for her longest reign. I am sure she will appreciate it ! During the trip I will spending at least one day at Stampex and hopefully meeting up with a buddy or two for philatelic conversation. I will report on the show with full-coloured pictures upon my return. I will also be attending a Cinderella-only auction at the RPSL in Devonshire Place, a wonderful place to visit. it is the first time I have ever been to an auction offering only Cinderellas. The auction is run by the Cinderella Stamp Club and I will be viewing some lots at the auctioneers home a few days before. There are also two other Stamp Fairs that I hope to get to as I know one or two dealers who always have some nice stuff. On top of all that lot, I will be meeting up with a fellow collector and Machin addict whom I have known for many years but never met. He recently purchased a large Machin Collection from me [one that I offered here briefly] and we will finalize the deal in person which is always nice.
Apart from a few brief visits to long-time friends and a school re-union, most of the rest of the trip will be with my elderly Mother [93] and Aunt [95] and doing jobs for them. A part working holiday one could call it.
So that's it. I know I'll have lots to catch up on when I get back and I will return with a few goodies for giveaways including the Europhilex Pack which will go up on the forum tomorrow.
.....and I must not forget frog, I'll have something nice for him too !
Be good while I'm away and look after each other. I'm here until Monday to keep an eye open........

May the road rise with you, Mr Bus (I know you're not going to Ireland, but it's the quickest travel related greeting I could muster!) And do give ol' Prince Phillip a hearty handshake for me as well. The guy's had a tough go!

And do give ol' Prince Phillip a hearty handshake for me as well. The guy's had a tough go! I wish I was to going to Ireland for a bit at least. I have been 3 times previously and loved every minute. I have never known such friendliness anywhere. One night in a bar with a girlfriends [Irish] family there was a band playing and someone told the leader I was a fan of Irish music and that my favourite was 'Black Velvet Band'. During the evening the place went quiet when I was invited up to the stage to sing it along with the band !!!! It was both hilarious and embarrassing....but equally unforgettable. Killarney, The Rose of Tralee festival, Waterford Glass....such wonderful memories.
