To revive this threadAlgérie (Algeria) 1946, June 20 - Air Post stamps Sc # C1 and C4 (Type II), both with nice postmarks and reserved for my friend Jon (Blaamand) Bonjour, René ! I hope that you are well ! I totally agree that these are beautifully struck postmarks on stamps of Algeria, and Jon ( blaamand ) is a lucky guy to have you for his good friend! But as I mentioned in another post, I have my eye for details, which is "both a blessing and a curse." I'm not sure if you were looking at something else when you made your post, but you mention 20 June 1946, but the two postmarks that you have shown are 24 January 1949 and 1 December 1948. Is your post missing an image of another postmark? Just wondering.... Kind Regards, Chris

Today is the 40th anniversary of Jacques Brel's fatal plane accident in the Marquises Islands (part of French Polynesia) where he had moved to to be away for the hustle and bustle of Europe. 5 years ago, French Polynesia issued this stamp showing the famous singer and his airplane.

An Air Mail issue from Reunion, with three examples, from left to right, an original stamp as intended (YT #PA2), with the value missing (YT #PA5b) [both from 1938], and with the France Libre overprint (YT #PA27 [1943]).

The joint France-Russia issue from 2017 celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Normandy-Niemen Air Squadron, a mixed Franco-Soviet fighting unit who fought in the siege of Leningrad and in France after D-Day. The French issue is here shown as a "Philatelic Souvenir", a series of blocks that the French Post issues a few times a year for special occasions. This one also includes, in addition to the normal issue in the middle, two "oddities" with only the red and black colours on the top right, and the other colors below. The Russian issue is on a souvenir postcard.

Aerogram from the French Southern and Antarctic Territories. The motif recalls an actual TAAF stamp, marking the inauguration of a landing strip on Terre Adélie.
