[NOTE: This post was made by former member @skytrain] Hi, this is my first post...I recently obtained four boxes of stamps from a garage sale. I am having great fun sifting through them. Instant collection! I was a History major in college and this endeavor is right up my alley. Below are four stamps that I found interesting. I have ordered The Scott catalog and I await its arrival. Until then can anybody shed some light on these four? Thanks...James

US Carrier stamps provide an interesting specialization, but you need to watch out for forgeries. The best single resource is, of course, the Scott Specialized Catalog of US Stamps & Covers, which I gather you're purchasing. Cancelled examples have a better chance of being genuine than do mint. A good article can be found at www.pennypost.org/pdf_files/CollectingLocalandCarrierStamps.pdf. You possibly have quite a garage sale purchase.

Left yours, right certified originals These are probably modern reproductions or the scan is not reproducing them well As mentioned, if you find unused, well preserved copies of any early US stamp, consider forgeries. Forgeries/reproductions can be space fillers.
