NZ Native-Freshwater-Fish_Stamps-Set 2017 More than 40 different species of freshwater fish have been identified in New Zealand’s waterways. Around three-quarters of these secretive and largely nocturnal natives are already endangered, which is a troublingly high number compared to other countries. Some of the issues our freshwater fish face include barriers in migration, destruction of habitat and the introduction of predators such as trout.

Norway have issued several stamps with fish on, but I don't think they have been to nice. But this year they have made a real nice stamp. The motive is Perca fluviatilis, or european perch (Åbor in Norwegian).

I normally do not care much about Guyana, but I thought this sheetlet of fish was well-done, and the descriptions interesting, although close to unreadable due to the small font. Maybe there is a feature in the software to increase the image size?

I normally do not care much about Guyana, but I thought this sheetlet of fish was well-done, and the descriptions interesting, although close to unreadable due to the small font. Maybe there is a feature in the software to increase the image size? I am using Chrome as my browser so it might work differently than other browsers do, but if I click your image once while reading your post, an imgbb page showing your scan opens in a new tab. This image is scaled to fit the entire thing on my screen - if I click that image again, it toggles to being scaled larger so it fits the entire width of my screen (I now have to scroll up and down to see the whole image because it's now too tall to fit the height on a single view). And if I get tricky, instead of clicking on your image to toggle its size, I can right-click and choose "Open image in new tab" from the context menu that pops up. This image in the new tab is once again scaled to all fit on my screen at one time, and if I click on it, the size toggles to its full original size which you uploaded to imgbb, which is large enough that not only do you need to scroll up and down to see it all, but you also have to scroll from side to side (in contrast, clicking on the image before doing the right-click trick toggles only to a size that's scaled so the full width of the image is all visible at one time). So, here are the 4 possible view sizes I get. First, the way it looks on TSF, with the image small enough to fit the width of the screen, with room left over for user names on the side of the screen: Next, the way it looks after I click the image on TSF to open it up on the imgbb page. And here's how it looks on the imgbb page after I click it once to toggle its size to increase it to match my screen width. Finally, here's the resolution I can get after using the right-click trick to open the image in its own tab so it's no longer on an imgbb page of its own. No problem reading that, even for me with my miserable eyes .... Ryan

Well, Ryan, thank you for doing that. I fiddled with the size (with ancient Firefox) but got no adjustment. I'll see what my repairman says about Chrome. I'm glad everyone can read the commentary now.

I picked up these UNISSUED trial proofs, if that's what they are....from Switzerland. The price marked was likely either a full retail or a pie-in-the-sky asking price. Either way I bought it in a rather large collection and I figure I paid roughly one tenth or less of the "asking" price. I like them but not sure where in my collection to put them. I have a Lighthouse three-volume Switzerland (mint) and a Scott Specialty album (for used stamps). Maybe I should start a third book, Cinderells, unissued, and Military stamps (I have a few and like those very much! More to post some day). Jim Wentzell stampguyaps177-681

Jim Wentzell stampguyaps177-681 jimwentzell.........a nice little lot and if you paid a tenth of the price quoted you did about right. These are Test Stamps issued in folders by the Swiss Stamp Printers PTT of Berne. They were produced to test Gravure and Itaglio printing methods and were given to the public during tours/visits to their premises. I have a folder but cannot find it !! will scan it later (if I find it)

Thank you Michael; I finally have the last piece of puzzle....I had wondered how these obvious trial "prints, impressions or vignettes," to use the Swiss PTT's terminology, got into collector's hands. And thanks to this great forum as well!
