A while ago I started collecting these shunned fellows. A lot are a little gaudy , some are pretty and none have seen an envelope. Are they stamps? Cinderellas? Stickers? I was even given a dedicated album: Here a couple of pages that I took with the webcam, I cannot put them on a scanner as they are all hinged and tend to flap like wings!

They are all stamps, and were valid for postage - even if most were produced with no intention that they be used for postage. On cover they are rare and highly collectible. I like them.

Yes, you may like them, or dislike them, that is the individual's prerogative. What you cannot deny, is that they form a very real part of stamp history, the history of Stanley Gibbons, and one of the more seedier sides of Philately, and how greed does consume some men. I like 'em too

What I collect: Worldwide USED up to the 1960's, later years from countries that came into existence after then, like Anguilla, Tuvalu and Transnistria.

I have not started to like the Sand Dunes yet, but will eventually have to get some covers and postally used singles. Heavy hunting, I know...
