I spent a portion of the day practicing removing U.S. self adhesives in anticipation of brightonpete sending me his stamps for servicing. I also received two mailings containing a coil strip of test stamps and three Ohio prepaid sales tax receipts. Now if those other three purchases would show up...

I love those eagle pre-sorts. I have very little problem with using Pure Citrus and I like the way US stamps look on a black stock page like this once removed from paper.

brightonpete...I read on another forum that Pure Citrus isn’t available in the UK either but they have a product there called Citrus Magic that works almost as well. Perhaps Citrus Magic is available in your neck of the woods. Good luck!

I bet some would be surprised how much time some of us can spend doing stamp related activities.
I spent a lot of time identifying Canada yesterday as I have no real knowledge of the country's stamp so locating issues in Scott since not 100% illustrated. Stampworld.com really helps. To me Stampworld.com is the model Scott needs to get to but not going to pay $400 a year in access costs.
What did I learn about Canada? They commemorated their native Indian populations better than the US.

On second thought... Walmart's pricing is reminiscent of Amazon's - crazy Canuck prices! Available online, not in store.

Yikes! You could drive down to the US, buy some Pure Citrus and drive back for less than they want for the Citrus Magic. Maybe even have a bite to eat as well. If I’m not mistaken, I gave around $5 US for my can.

brightonpete Watertown is beautiful. I am originally from the Utica/Rome area. My stepmom has a house in Clayton, not far from Watertown on the seaway. That whole area needs to be visited. If you get a chance take one of the seaway tours out of Alexandria Bay.

I was trying to saying it would be good if Scott followed the stampworld.com website format but if they did they would likely charge a lot for worldwide access. Their e-editions are $70+ per volume. They are stuck following their printed catalog model. I have no issue paying a one time fee for general use like you would a catalog and others can pay more for price updates.
For example, on stampworld, if you have a 17p stamp you need to identify, you can simply search a year range for all 17p, then see a complete illustrated list of all issues.

After scanning 34 pages of the Scott 2020 Germany, I rode 25.7 kilometres on the bike. Felt good to ride it. On turning the bike on, it sounded like the landlady was hammering away at her new sign outside. But no, eeeeep, it was my bike. But it performed rather well. I need to get someone to look at it sometime. I'll continue with the Germany catalogue sheets tomorrow.

Great to see all of the activity and recent posts from tobben63 , blaamand , and barbu ! Jens, it is nice to see you after some time! I hope you will start posting some examples of your collection again at some point.... Anyway, I have had a marvelous, stampy weekend. I have enjoyed it immensely, as I have not had one in a while, and this will probably be my last one for the next couple of months. Too much going on with the job change and the move to the UK, coupled with a desire to make some last-ditch efforts to see some local places here in France before we leave at the end of September. Stamp-wise, although I was seriously tempted to start digging into the great lots of Norway from Tobben, and of Sweden and French Colonies from vikingeck , I resisted and went back to Germany! I am pleased to say that after a concerted effort, I now have everything from my original accumulation sorted and organized into a collection on Hagner pages up to 1930 for regular postal issues (through Sc 387). The back-of-the-book items such as semi-postals, air mails, officials, etc. are sorted and organized, and just need to put into the stock pages. I will try to find bits of time here and there over the next few weeks to get Germany completely done through 1930. I am finally getting really close. Once I do, I will scan the pages and post the results. I will also create a needs list to send to mikeclevenger to see if he can help me to fill a few of the gaps. And then, as I promised to Doe , I will sort my China accumulation so that she can have a chance at the duplicates! All in all, it was a great stampy weekend for me!

I should get a passport, drive to Watertown, NY and stay for a few days! I want to circumnavigate Lake Ontario sometime. With that price difference, it would be worth a day trip as I am only just over an hour from the border. I let my passport expire as I have no plans for international travel. Time to re think that. david.

I have been working on various small projects will trying to juggle all the other things that need my attention. biggest project was getting pages printed for Andorra and Monaco. Started out with ink issues. Then printed on wrong paper. To top it off the computer and printer had a dispute and stopped talking to each other. Eventually I get it resolved and the three of us are now on polite speaking term. been sorting the Hungry stamps I acquired from Vikingeck. The photo is of the cover with the stamps. Perfect cancels on all stamps. mounts cut for odds and ends of stamps. also managed to catalogue Canadian SS and other various Canadian stamps I never knew I had. A few days of ‘ where did I get that’ and ´ how long have I had that’ not much stamping for next few days as I have other things to do before heading off to cottage once Again. As I will not have internet, i have lots of reading material saved to read while there. With the choice of lake, pool, food, drink, and other activities will I really get any reading in? will try my best.

Stampy mail today 3 letters and the Norwegian Stamp magazin + Nordia catalog and a nice magazine with the three firs issues of Norway Lot to do tonight. (and I have a big drying book full of Belgian stamps cleaned yesterday who need sorting) Will come back to the content of the letters later when I go through them.

No stamping for me this week as I’m in the hospital. I have managed to research several stamp related subjects on the internet, though, since I’ve been in here. I’m hoping to be released on Friday and will be ready to start stamping again full blast.

coastwatcher Sorry to hear about the hospital stay. Positive thoughts for you and hope for a quick release from there. I spend a great deal of time in those places and always take my laptop or firepad to give me something to do.

janetc and renden...thank you for your well wishes. I actually feel good, I just have a little bit of infection at the incision site where I had an appendectomy. After they found the right antibiotic, it seems to be going away. They also want to do an angiography after the infection clears as, sometime during the surgery, I developed an irregular heartbeat. And, yes, I have my iPad with me. They would have probably had to move me to the psychiatric ward if I didn’t!
