It was also faster, and more romantic to fly in a Zeppelin across the ocean than sail in a boat!

These stamps have of course already been posted by collectors with more impressive holdings than mine, but I still want to share these two. They are the big draw from my auction wins this month and fill one of the very last holes in my Weimar Republic collection: The 2M has the horizontal watermark, while the 4M has the vertical one. So I'm still only halfway done with them!

This is my only Zeppelin. A little heavy on the cancel, but I like it.

Firstly, let me state that I realise that this cover doesn't depict a Zeppelin. However, it does have a very strong Zeppelin connection. Originally flown on the Goodyear Type GZ-20A airship, the Europa from Skovlunde airfield and over Copenhagen, Denmark on 9th August 1974. It is signed by the airship pilot Richard Ross. Later, on 12th October 1974, it was flown on a small aircraft, a Dove Mark 8, to Friedrichshafen, Germany birthplace of the Zeppelin. There, the cover was further signed by Kapitan Hans von Schiller who had been associated with the Zeppelin since 1919 and became commander of the Graf Zeppelin in 1935. Cover and insert card shown front and back over 2 scans.

received these in a lot this week. Although the set of Egypt is not airpost, it is themed and the top value is the Zepp.
Nice stamps, I do not specialize in World Wide stamps, but have several Minkus Albums up to 1975. It does seem a waste to put these in those albums, knowing I very rarely work on them. Maybe I will start a Zeppelin themed album like so many others. Question for your all, did any British areas have Zeppelin stamps? I cannot recall, and I wouldn't blame them after the Great War.
