Some more labels to brighten up the board !!
This time a mix of Air Mail Etiquettes. Still researching these so just general posts for now. When I find the time (Ha!) I will organize better.
ESPERANTO !
An almost complete sheet (Bottom row missing) of the Lee Elliot 'Wings' design first mentioned a few posts back.
Complimentary Air Mail Etiquette from London's Strand Palace Hotel. Personalized too !! This Hotel has very strong Philatelic connections as it was home for many years of the long-Running 'Strand Stamp Fair' which is still going strong today, but in another location. I remember going to the fair here in my early collecting days....a great venue. A number of larger Stamp Events have been held here too over the years given it's proximity to the once thriving Stamp scene along the Strand and Covent Garden areas of London. Memories !

RED, WHITE & BLUE REGISTRATION LABELS
The Thorshavn label is interesting to me. I'm a fan of Faroese stamps so I would recognize it as Tórshavn - you have the Danish spelling of the name. And it's very faintly stamped, but you can see the name Julianehaab on one of the red & white labels. That Danish name for a Greenlandic town is now known as Qaqortoq. I've said this elsewhere, but again, hooray for exonyms! ha ha Ryan

Ryan, thanks for the info. All noted.
Below, a Lovely label for a Mum to put on her Son's letter !! There are other types similar to this one.
Small group of Air Mail Etiquettes including one from Czechoslovakia which included the 'Praga'88' International Stamp Exhibition Logo !
Another mixed group including a couple of nice German & Czech 'Cancel carefully' labels (2nd from top left/2nd from bottom right) Pretty sure that wouldn't help with much of today's mail given that the Postal services don't care too much, generally.

I picked up this cover today, primarily for the big beautiful etiquette. It's a 1939 home made first day cover for the US stamp SC# 857, which looks to have been prepared but never sent. Too bad - 1939 cancels from San Francisco and Dawson Yukon would have been awesome. Mr Fuellner had nice handwriting. I will note that there are black ink lines on the back which could be offset from being stacked on freshly cancelled envelopes. Perhaps this went through the system, but was neglected in transit?

Beautiful cover, James, thanks for the post! You make a good point if there are black lines on the back, that perhaps this did go through the system, but just never got a proper cancellation. But I agree with all of your other points: wonderful etiquette and I also really like the handwriting!

Thanks BG I would think that if that were the case, and the cover went through the system without being canceled, then Mr Daily of Dawson, Yukon Territory, would have been terribly disappointed with his FDC.

Just for the record, here's the back of the afore mentioned FDC. Lines on upper left.

I picked up this booklet recently during my visit to Aix en Provence in France. Yes, it was from the guy in the market who keeps forgetting his Cinderellas !! I took photos because it is difficult to scan. Lovely and intact (complete) with 3 panes of airmail etiquettes, one pane of customs labels and 2 panes of 'autres objets' labels. The latter translates as 'other objects' and was brought into use after discussions at the Postal Union Congress in London in 1929. The booklet was printed by Edicha of Paris, a publishing company who did some work for Air France including advertising leaflets and Baggage Tags. Hence the advertisement on the front cover ! Issued in January 1949. Londonbus1

I found this in today's combing trough stamps in unmarked envelopes... a take a numer and wait Deli counter ticket? Luggage check... Just curious if anyone has seen tis (or similar) before... I'm guessing the perforated ends (is this a coil?) was enough to get it placed in an envelope i've looked at more stamps than I my eyes can take for a bit....so I'll go hit golf balls and see if I have any idea where if they went where I was aiming! Cheers

I ran across these as I was working on my New Zealand project today. One of them was in a storage box on a stockcard and the other in my New Zealand BOB stock pages. The top one is massive and measures about 1" high and 4" long.

Compania Mexicana de Aviacion, the Oldest Airline in Mexico. (as was). Founded in 1921, ceased operating in 2010. I acquired some nice Company/logo etiquettes from a US seller/dealer and this was one of the most attractive.

The pane below is similar to the booklet pane I showed previously and is also from the Stamp dealer in the Aix-en-Provence market. This one though was sent to me by Beryllium Guy and was a nice surprise. Possibly by the same designer but different printer. This one is also in a much deeper shade of blue. I just received a nice big packet of etiquettes from the 'Anping' collection and will start scanning some shortly.

Lets not forget that there are etiquettes other than Airmail . A.R. = " Avis de recepcion" or advice of receipt

It seems to be sticky tape but still an etiquette? Message translates as " Reduced Tariff " ie lower postage rate for British forces serving in Germany

A nice Red Airmail etiquette. Still need to find the country of origin. Also, I need to find what the 'P' labels are for ? it's the first time I have seen them.

It could be and I had thought of that. But I have a bunch of labels inscribed Parcel or similar so why would a country shorten it to 'P' ? But yes, will look into it. One will turn up and all will be revealed soon I am sure.
