This is a bit of a quagmire for me as I ever never before delved in to this area. But it will be fun I guess. Start simple ! There is already a thread for Tangier so this will be for various types of 'Morocco Agencies' overprints/surcharges on Stamps of Great Britain and Gibraltar. 1948 Olympic Games issue of Great Britain with various types of surcharges. SG#178-181 in Spanish Currency. Overprints/surcharges in Spanish currency were used throughout Morocco until the French Zone and Tangier offices were working. Afterwards they were used in only in the Spanish Zone.

They nicely complete the other two sets I already had, the Spanish currency one, and the general post offices issue:

Only interested in "French Morocco"....Maroc. I made a custom album and gave it to a local Moroccan teenager/competitive swimmer and he knew the history of each stamp !!! Have about 20 more to add to his collection......

But Morocco is such a rich area... There are post offices abroad from a lot of European powers, early local post issues, three currencies, etc... To add to the confusion, we even have two separate threads on this forum for the British Morocco issues. I had already posted some other stamps, but they are under "Africa / Morocco / Morocco Agencies" ! thestampforum.boards.net/post/66834/thread

Still going through the Mystery box, a nice set of Morocco Agencies stamps with the KEVII effigy, which covers all four types: "Tangier", general "Morocco Agencies", French currency and Spanish currency overprints:

I am in the process of scanning my collection and putting it on my website.
The King George VI issues from Morocco Agencies include the British, French and Spanish currency issues plus Tangiers. Here is a link to a site that will allow you to download page scans of the various sets.

I had already posted some other stamps, but they are under "Africa / Morocco / Morocco Agencies"! Many thanks for your comment, Xavier, albeit from almost 3 years ago.... I checked it out, and I agree that all of these posts belong together, so I have now merged the threads. Hopefully, this will at least address that issue and make up for some of the images deleted by one of our former members.
Thanks for reviving this thread, daniel, which brought Xavier's point to my attention. By the way, I really like your "Last Day Cover" from 1957; I find that cover really cool!

As I was reading this thread today, I was reminded of my acquisition at the Paris Stamp Market back in 2019, when I was living in France, and I realized that while I included an image of these stamps in my TSF Newsletter article, I never actually posted the image on the Forum. Some of these have already been posted by Michael ( Londonbus1) in a used set, but here is the unused set. Great Britain - Morocco Agencies, King Edward VII definitives overprinted, Sc201-204, Sc206-208 issued in 1907 Sc205, an overprinted 4-pence orange stamp, was issued in 1912, and was not included in this set

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

It has been about a month since I last had some stamps arrive to add to my collections. These Offices in Morocco items were my first buys from Brixton-Chrome's weekly auction that I first learned about on the Stamp Forum. These represent 10 lots in total. As you can see this auction house is willing to offer lots of lower catalogue value items as single lots. They start items at 1.00 and shipping was actually below the going postal rate. It is great for filling holes. As you can see there are a few better items as well.

Hello! I came across this which appears to be Scott 409 - watermark 33 but it is the wrong color! Can anybody help me identify this? Much thanks! ponso1 I feel that it is a faded version of the Scott 409. I do not have an example of this overprint but have it without and it is a light blue. The Scott 418 shade is a bit darker.

ponso1 there is a slight greenish tone to the original stamps. Here is my copy without the overprint. I still think your overprint stamp is faded.

ponso1 , In Stanley Gibbons Commonwealth & British Empire Stamps, the different printings are all described as turquoise-blue, that explains the greenish appearance. However, if you look at the examples from Londonbus1 , he shows 3 examples of the 1 franc overprinted stamps and they are all different shades. That said, I agree with Hugh, hdm1950 , that your example is faded. Daniel
