Several prominent authors have categorized these as nothing more than Bogus issues as the company did not exist. Investigations carried out in the archives demonstrate that the steamship Clara Rothe existed. This steamship reportedly traveled regularly between San Tomas and several ports of Puerto Rico. You can be the judge .... LINK

Begs to ask the question, Nelson of all the images you open are these past or present holdings of your own? I'm always amazed at the extent of your knowledge and connections with those that know answers.I don't believe I've ever seen a post of some of your pages.Do us the honors soon.

Frog..
The forgeries I post are about 1/3 mine. The others I find on auctions and lots are given to me by other forgery collectors I correspond with in Europe, Asia and South America. I just got over 200 different from Spain so stay tuned... Although TSF is my "North American" forum, I belong to forums in France, Germany, Russia, Spain, Italy several in South America and others. I can acquire information not readily available from them plus having contacts that can assist.
As mentioned before I am less of a collector and more of a "philatelist" - I guess?. I just went from one to the other, more a search for knowledge than bits of paper. You like to flyspeck and I do the same with forgeries so it becomes second nature to pick out faults after a few years.
My library has over 500 books/catalogs and 1000's of articles/newsletters/journals - so lots of info there. Quite a few TSF members have excerpts. I convert all of them to pdf's - I like the search and zoom features as well as being portable - they're all on my hard drive. I sell/sold the originals and donate to a philatelic library.
As for display pages - never did them! I wasn't into hinges or mounts I bought & sold for many years (mid 60's to 2010) and everything was in stockbooks. I have been giving away leftovers - some TSF'ers benefited Most of that is now gone but I scanned all the best so that's what you see when I do posts. I still occasionally pick up specific things like Cinderellas and give away what comes in from others once I check them.
That's about it

Well, @falshung , I want to thank you for another very informative thread. I have now read through the material on your website, too, and I think it is fascinating. I need to retire so that I will have more time to read about all of these things!
You have also helped me to realize that having grown up in stamp collecting as a "Scott" man, I have had very limited exposure to anything not deemed appropriate for inclusion in Scott catalogues and albums, so I have been missing out on some very interesting stuff. Thank you for opening my eyes to the wider philatelic world out there, and for sharing all that you have with all of us on TSF and with me personally.
I have benefited greatly from our association on TSF, and I just want you to know that I appreciate it very much.
This latest project on these Clara Rothe stamps is another great one. How can I resist getting embroiled in a 150-year-old controversy involving stamps that were never delivered to their intended destination, sold off to dealers and collectors to pay debts, and then extensively forged due to the interest in them? It is the stuff that great stories and history are made of. Me, I love it!
