What I collect: Cinderellas and some Ephemera from Great Britain, France and Israel plus a few beautiful bits from elsewhere !! Topical interests include Flags & Judaica, the latter with an emphasis on the Jewish National Fund.

These are great looking items! Any extras? I've always like the American Bank Note engraved items, haven't put together a collection of them, but like the detailed work.

Those are very intriguing! First I've seen them. It would be interesting to see an issued certificate. I came across an issued example of an award certificate from the Bureau Issues Association. I was curious about the Statue vignette and wrote to the BIA for more information. They were kind enough to provide some additional scans and background. The Statue of Freedom was actually engraved and printed in the 1980s by members of the Washington Local chapter of the International Plate Printers, Die Stampers, Plate Makers and Engravers Union (IPPDSPM&EU), who are the personnel that work at the U.S. Bureau of Engraving & Printing. The BIA had close ties with the Bureau, so I think these certificates were produced as a favor. The Bureau liked the design so much that they adapted it into a souvenir card in 1991.
