Many thanks renden as always my scans are an "at the moment" deal.I've since added the #2.Great to actually see the elongated earring I keep looking at all that pass through my hands but not yet.I can't say I'll ever catch up to you own very nice bunch of N.B..Carry On. firstfrog2013 Thanks for reading my "long" analysis of your New Brunswick stamps. This is something I should have done at the time but was too concentrated on my pages. Everything I said is positive and the comments just touched questions I asked myself. I still wonder what the discolored Queen Victoria # 7 (brownish) represents as this color is not described in the varieties - so much fun !! I enjoyed reviewing your NB stamps - Thanks You already know I am not a Connell fan but your "proof" is well taken !! René

I think my aim is to have someone one day scratch their head and say"What the heck was this guy doing?".I collect to please myself and in many ways quite unconventional.I try to strictly follow release dates in presentation in the collection incorporating revenues and cinderillas mixed with regular and back of book issues.Always a work in progress. At some point I may merge the providences into it as well.It all becomes confusing adding things unless they are complete. My perfin collection and stationery will remain separate.

1851 New Brunswick Scott 2 6p yellowIt is true, we WW collectors may not obtain many scarce stamps that a country specialist is more likely to have. But even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. I love the early Canadian provincial stamps, and when a local opportunity presented itself, I took it. And thanks to all the authors of this thread, I really enjoyed the scans and discussion.

I should be around more often now. We were in the U.S. for six weeks, returning a week ago and sticking close to home. No cases of Covid-19 where I was and we feel fine, so think everything is OK. But everything else I do in the Saint John area is cancelled, so I am becoming even more friendly with my stamp collection. Lots to do, so I should get at it and maybe share a little more of it. Reid

Last evening my Stamp club was treated to an eye watering display of Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island stamps on cover. Our speaker was a guest from the Caledonian Society of Glasgow. as his covers were in protective sleeves, there is a bit of reflective glare so photographs were difficult . One example of the quality is the 7 1/2d trans Atlantic rate from New Brunswick made up of two 3d and a bisect there were covers with 6d, pair of 3d, and 6d bisect .

Now my comment to HUGH in the New Brunswick thread (where all N.B. stuff should be !! LOL) hdm1950thestampforum.boards.net/thread/594/nova-scotia-stamps?page=8&scrollTo=157494Charles Connell cover - This cover was chosen by our Provincial club - no real stamp used !! for the BNAPS meeting (never attended because of logistics and COVID beginning, if I rememeber well - but did buy their cover) The stamper in New Brunswick (my opinion) who is member of our Forum is nbstamper - and he holds a great collection, blocks, etc of N.B. stamps - hope he chimes in with his beauties !! OK Rene; here we go. A cover with the New Brunswick 12 1/2 cent steamship and it may possibly be faked; but don't think so . Becoming rare. Still looking for the 17 cent Prince of Wales on cover; but, if I ever see one, likely out of my price range.

nbstamper It is highly (as high as one can get) unlikely that without a dispatching postmark on the front that this went through the post. Any postmarks on the back? The fly in the ointment is the m/s notation in the LL corner stating Pd July 31. This looks to match the handwriting and ink of the address. Perhaps the intent was to mail but ended up carried by hand. Or was never mailed for another reason. The smudge "cancel" is beyond suspect as well. Let us know about the reverse. Jeff

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Seeing the post on the World Number Ones thread by angore showing genuine and forgery New Brunswick #1’s had me look at my example. I have never been enthralled with mine because it appears to have a revenue pen cancel. I do think the stamp is genuine but not worth the price to get it authenticated. I have not seen others with a pen cancel. It came to me in an old collection with nothing really spent for it. NOTE : Seeing the image blown up like this I suspect there is a repair on the upper corner in the photo of the back.
