Hi everyone, I am currently working off of my great Britain concise catalogue but struggling to identify the pile of George V seahorses that are in one of my many piles for sorting.
I look at my stamps, look at the examples of the engraving touch ups in the catalogue, look at my stamps, scratch my head a bit..... and then put them all back into the sorting pile with a promise to sit down and do them properly another day.
Is there a better publication which assists in the i.d. of these?
many thanks

…. and another quick thought, these seem to be stamps where the catalogue value is massively inflated compared to the price that even quite fair used examples are going for on ebay at the moment - these seems to be the ones where the difference between cat value and actual value is the greatest (even when comparing to any other used stamp versus cat)

There is the Stoneham catalogue and from the 1982 example I have scanned these two pages:- Guidance Listings As for catalogue value against actual trade, SG are known to vastly inflate their prices. Rumour has it last year they devalued their listings but I have not seen anything to compare and I suspect they will still be expensive. Hope this helps

So far so good, 50% are the later 1934 issues, the rest are Bradbury 1918 with the exception of a single de la rue - next job will be sorting shades

I also used a free program called IC measure to measure the 22.1 / 22.6mm thickness - very accurate, I tried to write a post a few minutes ago but the moment I tried to add a photo it crashed the forum and I had to log back in
