These stamps are a new topic to me, despite my years of collecting. In recent years, I've accumulated a couple of older collections full of 1930's and earlier stamps. I've come across a number of the 1937 Coronation stamps from different countries scatter throughout these albums. I'd kind of like to see how many of them I've obtained, and maybe try to get them all, if possible. How many are there? Did each issuing entity produce the same colors and values? Are some impossible to find and I can't reasonably hope to get them all? My curiosity is up on this one now.

I think I've already found out that there are 202 stamps in the set. But I still welcome info and insight from anyone who can offer it.

Thanks for the images. I've found album pages (with no images) to download for free, so now I have that. I'll be combing through those old Scott big blues this weekend gathering up what I already have so I have an idea of what I'll be looking for. If anyone is interest, I'll share the link to where I found the pages. It doesn't seem that I can add the link to this post.

The uniform omnibus series was produced for the then Colonies and territories of the Empire. It did not include the Dominions of Canada, SouthAfrica, Australia NewZealand or India . Each of which did their own separate issue. G.B. itself only produced a single stamp and Newfoundland had a different design. There were 3 values from each colony and the colours varied from one territory to another . There is a complete listing in Gibbons SG red catalogue.there may also be a complete listing at the front section of Scott but I haven’t checked recently. Here it is !

i found a dealer on Hipstamp.com who was selling mint and used copies of various of this issue. Have yet to receive. Just new to acquiring this set. If interested in knowing more about the dealer, please PM me. He has very reasonable prices. Most were under one dollar.

Thank you! I'd already found those and they seem to be exactly what I'm looking for. You might want to download the album pages again. There was a huge glaring spelling error on the header of each page that I just corrected.

Got it. Thanks for the heads up!
I finished combing through those old Big Blue albums for all of the Omnibus stamps they contain. It seems I have the low value stamp from almost each issuing country. So now I have a new stamp mission. Hopefully I can find the rest reasonably.

Baring one or two countries, most others are relatively cheaper. 1946 Victory omnibus is also cheap. 1935 Silver Jubilee, 1949 UPU and 1948 Silver Wedding are relatively more expensive omnibuses.

I've owned several versions of these albums over the years. The covers and colours were different but the basic content was the same in all of them. The green end papers in this spring Binder Album were hand printed (Very Classy). These were high quality offerings that made wonderful displays for the 1937 Coronation Omnibus issue (202 values total, the paired stamps are counted as a single stamp). I've selected a few pages to highlight the different designs. The complete set of issues for the Coronation Omnibus follows the Programme.
I've also included some scans of the "Official Souvenir Programme" of the event. The page showing the member countries of the "Empire" at that time is truly fascinating in its scope. How quickly, the Empire began transforming at this time is also noteworthy.

1937 Coronation of George VI and Elizabeth
The coronation of George VI and his wife Elizabeth as king and queen of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth, and as emperor and empress of India took place at Westminster Abbey, London, on 12 May 1937. George VI ascended the throne upon the abdication of his brother, Edward VIII, on 11 December 1936, three days before his 41st birthday. Edward's coronation had been planned for 12 May and it was decided to continue with his brother and sister-in-law's coronation on the same date.
Although the music included a range of new anthems and the ceremony underwent some alterations to include the Dominions, it remained a largely conservative affair and closely followed the ceremonial of George V's coronation in 1911. The ceremony began with the anointing of the King, symbolizing his spiritual entry into kingship, and then his crowning and enthronement, representing his assumption of temporal powers and responsibilities. The peers of the realm then paid homage to the King before a shorter and simpler ceremony was conducted for the Queen's coronation. The return procession to Buckingham Palace was over six miles (9.7 km) in length, making it the longest coronation procession up to that time; crowds of people lined the streets to watch it, over 32,000 soldiers took part and 20,000 police officers lined the route. The coronation was commemorated by the issuing of official medals, coinage, and stamps, by military parades across the Empire, and by numerous unofficial celebrations, including street parties and the production of memorabilia.
The event was designed to be not only a sacred anointing and formal crowning, but also a public spectacle, which was also planned as a display of the British Empire. May 1937 included a programme of royal events lasting nearly the entire month to commemorate and mark the occasion. As a preliminary to the coronation, guests from across the Empire and around the world assembled at Buckingham Palace and official receptions were held to welcome them; amongst those attending were Indian princes and, for the first time, native African royalty. For the event itself, the prime ministers of each Dominion took part in the procession to the abbey, while representatives of nearly every country attended. Contingents from most colonies and each Dominion participated in the return procession through London's streets.
The media played an important part in broadcasting this show of pageantry and imperialism to the Empire. The coronation was an important event in the history of television, being the country's first major outside broadcast, although television cameras were not allowed inside the abbey. It was also the first coronation to be filmed, as well as the first to be broadcast on radio.

Wow, that regalia series is attractive and very hard to come by, I think these days it is scarce complete.
The postage stamps by comparison are easily obtained

REL1948 - what a nice collection ! Thanks for taking the time to scan and show René Thank you so much for the kind words René. I really appreciate your thoughtful comments and depth of collecting. Your Dad passed on a wonderful collection that you've significantly contributed to.
Thank you for all that you share!
I've had way too many stamps in way too many stock-books for decades, it became time to mount and organize them to eventually sell. That's why I've been acquiring Albums and mounting the various countries and scanning the lot recently. In truth it serves several purposes: it documents the collection for whatever purpose, it allows me to share it online and lastly it is part of the preparation for selling. I'll sell everything eventually "God willing and my creek don't rise" (I live on a river but thankfully my house is on a hill above it ).
