Hey, 16 June 1910 is more interesting to me as it falls within KGV's reign, but I can't unsee 01.

Thanks for the generous offer but I do have some; I haven't truly sorted what I have. It will be part of a winter project, but, not this winter.

The relevant page from the 2020 Unitrade catalogue. In the Unitrade catalogue shared (thanks dgdecker), the entry for the "Imperial Penny Postage" issue states, "The Official First Day was Christmas, December 25, 1898" although partially correct, omits the connection between the stamps issuance, the concept of Imperial Penny Postage and a single rate within the Empire that was to take effect on 25 December, 1898.
This cover from the "R. W. T. Lees-Jones Collection – Canada" currently in the collections of the The Royal Philatelic Society London with its display note of "First day of postage rate reduction" is a much clearer explanation between the issue date, first day covers (always the same date?) and the effective date of the new postal schema - Postage Rate Reduction.
Perhaps the next edition of the catalogue will be better written and clearer for this important aspect of postal history...
Happy collecting!

Thanks for the extra info. Perhaps a note to the editors will help it get into next issue.
We are better with the more we know.

Done! Jotted off a similar note to the Unitrade editors the same day; let us see what happens next...
Happy collecting!

Just received my copy of BNA Topics, Vol 79, Number 2 (Official Journal of BNAPS) On page 69, Study group section, one of our members, stanley64 - Vince - is mentioned in the MAP Stamp section as having presented in Vol 1, No 4, an interesting attempt to identify all the red British Empire territories on the Map Stamp (Canada 85 etc). Having read his article, I wish to congratulate him for his work/interest in this Canadian stamp of 1898. Nice to see our members mentioned René This is Map Stamp # 85 - lavender (one of many copies in my CANADA collection)

Thanks for the kind words and acknowledgement René ( renden ); both are appreciated :-) I have yet to receive my copy of the most recent BNA Topics, but it is always nice to receive a shout. As you mentioned, the article was originally written for the TSF Newsletter and re-published in the Map Stamp Study Group's newsletter. For those interested in a quasi-geography lesson or simply up for a bit of armchair travelling, the original article can be found here. Have fun and happy collecting!! P.S. I believe the Map Stamp you have shared René is plate position - '2A95'.
