I will write up a how to guide using PhotoBucket photobucket.com/. I made a account and its very easy to use. Here is a image using the TSF image thumbnail. I will also post a photo bucket in a short time I have to upload first I see Jack use the 'Click the image' method. I guess timewise it's the same but I mostly use the star/asterisk route. To each their own.

@jack (and why not everyone else interested of costs of website hosting)... Jack, you need your own host, rather than using the Proboards server. Just download the software. There are plenty of hosts. I have been using Bravenet for 12 years, unlimited bandwidth and storage for less than $10 per month. www.bravehost.com/Actually all 'unlimited hosting plans' have the same catch: unlimited is not truly unlimited. For example Bravehost/Bravenet SLA states the following: As for what 'normal use' use is, it really depends on the hosting service provider. It can be 1GB of bandwidth. Or 5GB. Or 10GB. Or if you get lucky 50 to 100GB... But once your website becomes really 'popular' and exceeds the limits, you are charged accordingly. No exceptions with that. -k-

On the right hand side you will see a box with different codes, just LEFT click on the IMG code and it will auto copy the code when you make a post just right click and paste the code

When you do this you do not need to use the image icon in the tool bar. All you need to do is paste the code text into the post reply area. Make sure you use the IMG code.

I have been spending the last few days reading about different plans and cost's. it seems what they say is unlimited is a crap shoot.

Just a note on this for photobucket users: on the IMG tag part there is some weird script written infront of the tag. What I do is copy & past in onto a notepad and delete the crap from infront and at the end then just re copy & paste into the body of your post. I don't know why they started puitting all that extra code on the IMG tags but it's quite annoying. I am actually almost out of storage space there and thinking about trying to figure out my flicker account. Maybe someone familiar with flicker could help me out? Here is a small tutorial on what I'm describing: Step 1. Step 2. Step 3.

Jack and SCB (and others), the same thing applies to to Photobucket and other "free" sights. They can go out of business, change their rules anytime, change the file limits and paths etc, as we have seen on other forums and the stamp images disappear. Even just the user changing the path (in most cases accidentally) causes the images to disappear.
I have used Bravenet for 12 years for five different websites under one account, including the hugely popular TuvaluIslands.com, and never had any problems or extra charges. The costs have actually gone down over the years.

I have tried it a few times, works perfect.

Keijo - what host to you use? You must generate plenty of traffic, your blog is extremely popular. You have subtle Google ads (like me) and those pay me way more per month than the host costs

I use HostingMatters for all my sites. $11/month for an unlimited plan, and I've run a ton of bandwidth and storage space without ever being charged an extra dime.

My turn to try - I'm using Picasa for computer-based storage and Google+ for web-based storage. It's a bit of an odd way to do it, but I don't see any "easy" way with Google+. 1. Click on the image in Google+ that I want 2. Hover the mouse over the image, click the little arrow at the upper right of the image to switch to fullscreen display 3. Right click on the image, choose "Copy image URL" 4. Click the "Insert Image" icon while composing this post on TSF 5. Paste the copied image URL into the input box and click "Insert Image" 6. Yay and hooray, it seems to do what I want it to do Ryan edit: changed https to http, it shouldn't need any secure connections - it's a picture, not a bank account!

The costs have actually gone down over the years. Drat and blast, a Canadian hosting company but they don't offer .ca domains. When I eventually get my trading website up and running I'll be looking for a new host - my business webhosting is fine but a bit expensive, so for hobby-based stuff it's a bit out of line price-wise. I'll have to look around, I definitely want a .ca address. Ryan

Ryan, how come your image is a *.gif ? Nice stamp, albeit bewildering, thought I could see a flag in there at first.

Ryan, how come your image is a *.gif ? Nice stamp, albeit bewildering, thought I could see a flag in there at first. Hmmm, I hadn't noticed it was a .GIF file. Merely something I had in my stamp photo folder on my computer, something I would have found on the internet who knows how long ago. The artist is Yaacov Agam, one of my favourite modern artists. In one of the recent auction lots posted by user ramanandn that I picked up, there was an Israeli souvenir sheet commemorating the 35th anniversary of independence, featuring a Star of David by Agam. Happy to get that with the others! Ryan

Keijo - what host to you use? I'm using a Virtual Internet (vi.net) + a combination of 3rd party service providers (such as SendGrid, Amazon Cloud etc). You must generate plenty of traffic, your blog is extremely popular. I wouldn't call it extremely popular (at least yet). It's just 'well known' amongst a group of like-minded collectors in certain countries. But if measured using bandwidth, it can vary from 250MB to 10GB a day depending on what's hot/happening. A lot depends on how the 'search engine gods' feel about the site on that day. You have subtle Google ads (like me) and those pay me way more per month than the host costs Lucky you. Basically any money that I manage to get from ads & sales of premium content goes straight into keeping the blog online. It's not just single bill/factor, but the total of things. -k-

Frog you are in the image group, this means you can still post images the old way. so you can still up load just like you did in the past
