Here is another one Gibbons : On self adhesive booklet panes where the backing paper serves as the cover for the booklet, why does Gibbons assing both a booklet pane number AND a complete booklet numbers. You can not separate the pane from the booklet! djcmh. Your spelling of assign as “assing” in this context is hilariously perfect!

Hey philatelia , JeffS and djcmh : thanks for the feedback! I actually agree that in no way should these things appear in any catalogues where they could be given any kind of legitimacy. I AM glad, though, that Scott will at least put a note about it in that area so we know what we've gotten. And thanks for the great links for more info... I have now added the "UPU circulars" link to my research links for future use. As for me, I had the thought while I was reading through all this that, hey, in my EZStamp databases, I will create a new "Enter this as a Main Variety" and catalogue them as "ILL#" ( ILL1 etc.) Nor will I spend too much time entering extra information or anything.

Here is another one Gibbons : On self adhesive booklet panes where the backing paper serves as the cover for the booklet, why does Gibbons assing both a booklet pane number AND a complete booklet numbers. You can not separate the pane from the booklet! Self-adhesive booklets with different covers, frequently, have the same content. The Modern British Philatelic Circle (MBPC) does this as well. Rather than repeatedly list a specific content, the MBPC and Gibbons (much of the work on the Concise listing is done by John M. Deering) list the content once and list individual stamp books referring to the (shared) content.
