To answer in part to dorincard and stanley64 , I agree with the fact that those useless pieces of paper were often reproduced images of a cultural and artistic heritage that at the time was unknown to a large part of the population. Only with regard to Italy were often unpublished images proposed, which to date have never appeared on postage stamps again. Definitely a good way to create a virtual museum. At the link (if it works) a short extract limited to Italy.

My stampless cover came with an interesting leaflet showing the complicated border-situation in between the Emirates and to Oman.

"... those useless pieces of paper"
The album pages you have shared Sergio serphil , might suggest otherwise (the stamps of the Roman tile mosaics are a treat) ...
The images shown would suggest there is value in these tiny bits of coloured paper. For the thematic collector or armchair traveller, there is plenty of opportunity to explore with minimal investment. From my own earlier posting, I would just suggest minimising the monies spent on the Dunes issues as the return is not going to be great for the bank account, but for the educational value alone - priceless.
At the same time, what better way to get a young person involved in the hobby, learning the mechanics of collecting, sorting (those tongs can be difficult to master in smaller hands) and even trickier, mounting. Better to have the initiate work with 5c. stamps rather than the demands of something more expensive; the world is big, the hobby can be exciting, educations, definitely enjoyable as simple past time and these stamps are the perfect example...
Happy collecting!
P.S. For those that have or will enter René's ( renden ) drawing for some of these little gems, Dune States (Ajman) - good luck!

Hi Sergio
One of the posters in this thread mentioned that Steiner has a set of pages for the Trucial States issues that are not listed in Scott. The one Emirate that he does not have is Ajman. I have taken on the challenge of creating the Ajman pages in his format, using Michel and online resources. The one thing I don't have are the measurements for the last miniature/souvenir sheets. Michel stops listing these dimensions halfway through 1972. I would greatly appreciate it if you could supply me with measurements for any you have. Otherwise I will just supply a blank page for each MS. I know it is a lot to ask - I can't even find any online illustrations for the listed blocks.

I may have them in my collection if Nudes but I will also check my Minkus Trucial States when I find it Lol

I have a lot of Trucial State and some Yemen area issues that are on Vario pages (no real orgaqnization) since Steiner does not have pages for all of them. A to do is to create pages but as said above not having dimensions is a drawback.
If Colnect has images, you can often get a good estimate of the size since most scan at various levels (300, 600, etc) but time consuming.

I haven't seen any nudes yet, but I'll keep an eye out for them ;-)

Unfortunately, Colnect doesn't have images for most of these mini-sheets. I am looking at completing Yemen and correcting the mis-sized stamps on the existing Steiner pages next. Then maybe Upper Yaffa and South Arabia.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I have discovered that the collection I bought last weekend runs into the 1970’s and the owner got a bit caught up in the popularity of the Dunes stamps of that era. It would appear Yemen could fit in with them as well. My early collecting days were in the early to mid 1960’s and the thing then was eastern block CTO’s. I blew so much of my paper route money on them from an approval stamp company out of New York. I still have them in my world wide collection that stops at 1965. One should not be too critical though because the western postal services took great pleasure in promoting corner blocks and full sheets in the 1970-90 era resulting in a glut of postage available at less than 50% of face value.
