I have Jefferson Davis #47 (with white border), but can't seem to upload images at this time. Something about the 'forum has exceeded it's attachment limit' I hope I didn't break the forum!

It might help to move the discussion of the "Miniature Portraits of the Rulers of the World" to a new topic, as we seem to have strayed from the topic of Canadian cinderellas. I can upload an image of a full sheet if that would be helpful to continue the conversation.

Our hard working and underpaid moderators, may wish to throw them over to US Cinderellas, I am unsure as how difficult that may be. I for one, would like a scan of the sheet.

As promised, here is the image of the full sheet of the "Miniature Portraits of the Rulers of the World (Nineteenth Century), though I suspect this is the second printing as it is missing the #10 Alexander of Teck stamp. Had to do it in three scans. Thank you.

And I believe I saw a Smokey the Bear early on in this thread. Here are some more forest fire labels (anti of course!). I believe I've shown the last one before, but thought it was worth repeating here with its new associates. Fire prevention. We could just about have enough for a large topical on these, I have quite a number. Fire prevention ? I am wondering if this makes good sense, US and Australia have shared some huge burns in recent years, it may be caused by prevention, and the build up of large fuel loads, at the base of trees. I am becoming a convert to controlled burns, so that when fires do occur, the flames are unable to reach the canopies.

What I collect: Cinderellas and some Ephemera from Great Britain, France and Israel plus a few beautiful bits from elsewhere !! Topical interests include Flags & Judaica, the latter with an emphasis on the Jewish National Fund.

A topical about Fire, fire prevention and Fire vehicles sounds good. I have one or more with no country clues so would fit a general theme. Here in Israel forest fires have caused great devastation in the last years, both in the Carmel Mountains and Jerusalem Foothills. Here's a few more with 'Smokey'. Londonbus1

Away from the fires, here is a label celebrating George Washington's Bicentenary in 1932. Flower-shaped, die-cut and embossed, I was immediately struck by it's simplistic beauty. Fortunately, I won it !! Whilst waiting for the auction to start, I finally managed to put the scanner to work and take some shots of recent Cinderella acquisitions. This is one of them. Londonbus1

A 29c stamp showing a young Elvis Presley was issued by the USPS in January 1993. Designed by Mark Stutzman the stamp was chosen by the American Public from a choice of two designs. www.postalmuseum.si.edu/artofthestamp/SubPage%20table%20images/artwork/rarities/Elvis%20Ballot/elvisballot.htmBut not every one was supportive of this Postal venture, and at least one showed his opposition in the form of stamp-like label !! The label was most likely issued early in 1992 [dated]at the time of the voting for the issue which was held in April. Research has thus far failed to find the person/s behind the label. Londonbus1

A lovely warning/propaganda Poster stamp [American Relief Administration?] from 1924. I have seen other similar labels and others with possible dire consequences. This one is a serene version !!

The American Relief Administration was phased out in 1923, according to Wikipedia. This is probably the American Railway Association, given the subject matter. It's now the Association of American Railroads. That's a cool cinderella.

Thanks Ed. Yes, that is a more likely solution and my question mark was because I was not convinced. I found a 'Hoover' connection but it was a bit flimsy. I chase up the American Railwat Association, thanks. I also found nothing at all about the Printing company, but maybe I will join the two together somehow. Cinderella collecting is not always straight-forward !

The Anzac Club of New York was founded in 1942-43 by Nola Luxford, a New Zealand-born actress, broadcaster and writer who went to the USA to escape from family turmoils back in her native land. The club was born after Miss Luxford saw some 'lost' New Zealand soldiers at the Grand Central station one day and after humble beginnings [ a rooftop], the club played host to over 12,000 Aussie and New Zealand soldiers during and after WWII. She and her female assistants all volunteered at the club. A wonderful story. MADE IN USA ! Lovely Poster Stamp produced by Freie Presse, an advertising company of Lincoln, Nebraska. One can assume the company advertising would be [over]printed in the block space at the top. The Poster stamp also exists with the text in the block at the top and in at least one other design. All feature the Liberty Bell. Possibly printed by Wentz & Co of New York.

The Ever Ready Label Corporation, New York produced, among others, a series of Safety stickers [labels]. Below are examples for Road Safety, designed by Art Helfant, produced in both colour and black and white. Lovely designs, full of serious wit ! New Yorkers must have been very proud to display these in their windows, cars, bicycles or letters. At year 2000, Ever Ready were still in business in Belleville, NJ. Please post other labels you have from Ever Ready...james already posted one I believe. Londonbus1

Let me follow up the forest fire labels with these two. They could also go under the patriotic thread I suppose, but lets put them here instead. Growing trees for the future and to serve America. That simple looking Oregon Green label is actually quiet interesting. The image is also printed on the back, over the gum.

THIS IS AMERICA. Another lovely and interesting Poster stamp series from the USA. Produced in 1940 by the Pearce-Keller American Legion Post, Manhattan. Sheets of 99 !! 9x11 with margins all round. I doubt that a Stamp album has ever been made to hold this item !! [1½ feet high+] Marginal inscriptions include quotes by Theodore Roosevelt and Daniel Webster. Known by me in at least 3 different colour combinations: Dark Blue and White Purple and Light Blue Dark Blue and Light Blue Wonderful American patriotism with the central vignettes showing true US Icons. I onlyhave a few copies, no full sheet sadly, so this little taster is just that. If anyone has any others, please post here. The sheets were originally sold with a list and descriptions of all 99 stamps !! Here's that Minute Man again !! Londonbus1......
