What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I had these 2 stamps buried in my desk waiting to identify them. It was not so hard. They were local issues by the Polish town of Przedborz during German occupation late in World War 1. Like many of these stamps forgeries are far more common than genuine. My 2 fit in to the fake category but still interesting. The good news is that there are excellent sites to check the validity of what one has.

There were on internet several valid references for polish stamps, the first the "Polish stamps encyclopedia" and the second (maybe more interesting for you now) the site of Sam Ginsburg about przedborz local issue. Both have now disappeared, what a pity. If you look on internet Sam Ginsburg you'll probably find many images taken from his site concerning this issue and related to the differences between genuine and forgeries. I don't collect them (like many other area in the polish stamps panorama, what a collector i am), but both look forgeries at my eyes. The red stamp on your left has a very raw print, in the second you can see some key points which identify it as a forgery (i.e. the shape of the dot on the left of 1918).
BTW! the link of the Sam Ginsburg's site is
Is there a way to retrieve it somewhere?
