I have just published a new blog post discussing the different varieties of the perforated penny reds. I discuss the differences, give tips for identifying them, but I also get into the "why" - the backstory that explains why the varieties exist. Understanding the why will help you remember what all the different varieties are and keep them all straight in your head. You can access the post brixtonchrome.com/blogs/cla...in-1854-1864. As always I welcome any comments you may have.

Thanks Clive. I don't know how that happened as I had copied the link. But thanks very much. I had wondered why there were no comments. Now I know.

Thanks Clive. I don't know how that happened as I had copied the link. But thanks very much. I had wondered why there were no comments. Now I know. This has happened to me. I believe that the problem arises when you add a full stop, as you do, at the end of a sentence and inadvertently render the link unserviceable Daniel
