Although I started collecting early Great Britain later in life, I am slowly, very slowly, catching up. Although this example is not perfect, it is very presentable. One day I will learn Penny Black Plates, hopefully before my eyesight is totally gone! 
I do like that it was postmarked Dursley on the way out, and Winchester on the receipt

Lovely cover sudbury12000; given the Stage 3 of the 'O' flaw between the 'O' & 'N' of the word 'ONE' on the bottom, the Penny Black affixed can only be from one of 4 plates: 7, 8, 9 or 10. From my references and the placement of the two letters, 'E' and 'D' in their respective boxes, I would like to suggest this is from Plate 10. Lucky lad... Have fun and happy collecting! |
