Blackprints, these are miniature sheets issued by a number of postal entities specifically for the collector market.
They are often printed in limited quantities and also individually numbered in order to add collector appeal.

darkormex....As clivel stated in his reply, there are a number of blackprints and blueprints of Israel stamps, most produced for souvenirs at Stamp shows in Israel and worldwide where Israel Postal agencies have a stand.
The one you show here was apparently produced as a souvenir for 'Tabul' 1949 and comes in 3 types. The one you have on cream paper (thin card), on white paper and on white paper with a different base inscription. I am not convinced they are that old so further research/proof is required.

I actually never did try to, but I could look into it.
I filled those details by hand as a child (you might be able to tell this handwriting is using the 'print' lettering taught in first grade, rather than 'cursive' taught and used in second grade and onwards), Netanya is just where we lived at the time, not the branch we got it from (I think it was a gift from a family member).

I did just google Eliezer Weishoff earlier, very accomplished person, fun fact, apparently he designed the logo for Coca Cola Israel, among other things.

Part set of Entertainment Tax stamps, used in Netanya (North of Tel Aviv) from late 1950's until 1970 when these taxes were withdrawn.

Inscribed 'City of Netanya' and 'Pleasure Levy' !! 

Values in Agorot. Printed in sheets of 50 (5x10) and rouletted.

I managed to find (and afford) a further example from the 1948 Rishon LeZion Emergency stamps (see earlier post on page 1).
This one is marked.
The scan is not mine so will be replaced once the item arrives.
Oh yes, this stamp (Kishon variety) is position 8 on the sheet. (middle stamp bottom row)

I was looking for some fine details to use in a political discussion when I chanced upon the Exhibition Card you see below.
The card is not mine, it was offered in an auction some years ago (2018) with a $100 start price.
It did not sell.
It was offered in a local auction called 'Winners auctions'.

The Exhibition, not a Philatelic one, was new to me. In all my years searching and researching items of Israel/Palestine/Judaica I had never come across this event.

Fight for Freedom Exhibition, Tel Aviv/Yafo, December 1958-January 1959.

The card is franked with an Israel Independence Day stamp from 1955, cancelled with Exhibition strikes. The card is signed by Menachem Begin who later became Prime Minister and made peace with Egypt.
The pictures to the right side comprise of images of Underground Irgun and Lehi (The Stern Gang) members who were executed by the British during the Occupation and Mandate periods of Palestine. Begin joined the Paramilitary group in 1942 and became the leader in 1944 until they disbanded in 1948 when the State of Israel was established. They were responsible for a number of crimes and atrocities against the Arab enemy as well as the Occupying British.




A few days ago whilst browsing eBay I came across this half sheet of labels which matched the images on the card above. I had never seen them before. I was the only bidder !! I have since found a sheet but wait for something a bit less expensive to turn up !!

From the card you can see the two images on the bottom row left and right. They represent the Coat of Arms for the Lehi (left) and Irgun (or Etzel, right)

Half sheet in brown. Just now I have seen a single label in blue so I will assume the card also exists in blue.

KEREN TEL-HAI

I cannot put it any better than this translation from Hebrew by the Bernard Museum of Judaica, New York. It sits alongside a Poster from the Keren Tel Hai organization.

"Keren Tel Hai was a monetary fund originally established in the wake of the 1929 riots that swept across the Land of Israel, in which hundreds died.



The riots consisted primarily of attacks by Arabs on Jews and their property. The fund was dedicated to training young Jews in self-defense and took its name from a former Jewish settlement in northern Israel that was the site of an early battle in which the Zionist national hero, Joseph Trumpeldor, had been killed.
Trumpeldor’s final utterance is reputed to have been “It does not matter; it is good to die for our country.” His heroism was admired across the political spectrum, and both Revisionist and Socialist Zionists appropriated his name and memory."

These Booklet panes most often go for $15-$30 each and more so I had a small smidgen of luck this week when I won each one for 99p !! The sender, unfortunately, does not send to International destinations so these are waiting for me at my Cousin's house in Essex.

A few odd items I picked up on the way to somewhere.....I cannot remember. But here they are.

Not a lot of information forthcoming on these but the search is going......or should I say, never ending !!

The item below, a Blue & brown Se-tenant pair from a larger sheet, shows Beit Jabotinsky before the addition of a tower block above it. I'll let you read about it here:

The Israel Society of Judaica collectors is still going strong today as I noticed their participation in a fairly recent event. But more than that I do not know. yet !



Fund-raising-cum-advertising label for the Tikvah Hayeled Foundation (Hope for Children). The foundation has premises in New York and Jerusalem (from 1983) to school and treat Children and Youth who have Cerebral Palsy and other muscular issues.

The inscription on the back is NOT the same as on the stamp.

The first stamp is inscribed in Yiddish and like the other two, from the former Soviet Union. It is for a Palestine Workers Fund and inscribed thus. Still checking for more info.

The other two stamps are from the Soviet office of the Jewish National Fund and are very scarce. 

The 20 'value' is entitled 'The Jew in exile' and clearly depicts Egypt and the Pyramids.
The 30 shows Herzl's Vision.

Both are inscribed 'Land of Israel Week'.
Issued in 1918, Perf 11½. They are two of set of 5 but in various colours. Your Blue colour 'Herzl' stamp is not listed in the latest catalogue.

From 1948 until the early 1950's, the Hadassah Women's Organization of America were fund-raising for Israel, for health facilities for the new State.

For some years fund-raising stamps were issued and sold at various locations, under the banner 'Hand of Healing for Israel'.

The stamps were printed by Allied Printing of New York and most were issued in sheets of 18 (6x3). The banner heading was inscribed in the top margin.

I have two examples to show.

The first 2 are cinderellas but I have no idea on the second one.

Unissued Military Mail Stamps. Year unknown up to now.

From an auction on eBay but never arrived.

With eBay, Delcampe, Facebook and the like still off limits due to the postal uncertainty, I have switched my Cinderella searches to local auctions and have found a few decent ones through Bidspirit.

Mostly I have managed to pick up my items in person to save on postage and to get some exercise wondering around the philatelic cabins of Tel Aviv.
And there are bargains to be had when compared to the aforementioned outlets.

Included in recent finds are these two small sheets, varieties of which were first shown here by Rod back in 2015 (see page 1).
Compared to the single sheet on white paper shown back then, here below are two sheets on yellow paper and with only horizontal roulettes. The colour shades on all of the labels are different too but the designs appear to be the same.
