I recently bid on a selection of postmarks from Denmark.Much to my surprise...and probably my wife,s annoyance ,I was the winner. The lot arrived and there were almost 350 pages of stamps ,all neatly arranged and hinged on quality pages. All common stamps but a huge range of postmarks. I will have lots of fun sorting through these.

Copenhagen postmarks with numbers and letters. I assume these are from different postal districts, similar to the use of numbers in Vienna.I did find some information online but now cannot locate the site.Hopefully some one can help with more information.

Here's a common stamp with a common postmark. But between the date when the stamp was withdrawn from sale and the date of the postmark there's an interval of more than forty years.
According to Stanley Gibbons, the 30ø orange (SG 151) was issued in 1921 and superseded by the 30ø blue (SG 152) in 1925. So I wonder who affixed it to an envelope in 1968, and why. Was it a stamp dealer using up cheap old mint stamps for postage, as happens nowadays? Or is there a more interesting story that we'll never know but can speculate about?

I'm now going to have to look through all my Danish stamps for other examples of that curly "E".
Seriously, I'm very grateful for your expert help.

I don't have anything ancient about Denmark. Here is a modern-day postmark of Odense, which is a sister city of Kyiv. I was told by a Dennish philatelist that Denmark post office no longer hand-postmarked items. So I had to send my Ukraine support maxicards to a philatelic centre to ask for this cancellation.

The one with “K”. Denotes the main Central Post office , the small no23 the handler counter clerk,
other letters F , V , Omk are Post Offices in districts other than the main PO.

These caught my attention at Torben Mehl. I was just too weak to merely admire and move on: Danish two-color from 1875, and complete Danish 1925 airmails.
