Scott pages are 10x11½ inches 32 lb. cream colored paper. Does anyone know where to get this kind of paper?

Hi Andy
If you have a local "mom and pop" printer nearby, try them. One would be surprised at what they are able to do.

When I was studying paper, the Scott paper (like many other offset press papers) has a very smooth finish compared to typical paper. And blacks are not as black as one gets with an ink jet or laser. You can also contact.

In my worst case scenario, I can order 11x17 and have someone cut it down for me. But it's finding a local printer that's going to be hard. All the ones that used to be around here closed down.
Amos sells blank pages, but all of them have a border on them. I sent them an email yesterday asking if they sell blank paper without borders.
There's a guy that prints Steiner pages onto Scott-sized paper. He sells blank pages. But he wants 25¢ a page, plus $7.10 for shipping up to 50 pages. The shipping price seems pretty steep, since he can send the stuff media mail.

Found a local paper store. The guy told me paper mills have not made any colored paper in close to 2 years. Whatever is in the supply channels is all there is.
Which explains a lot. I've been trying to buy Accent Opaque 11x17 32lb. cream colored paper and it's been sold out everywhere for over a year.

I was having a lot of difficulty finding my paper (Neenah Exact Vellum Bristol, 8.5x11, 67 lb, Cream) last year, at the same time I was preparing to redesign/reprint all my pages. I usually bought off Amazon, but it was perpetually out of stock. Ditto Office Depot, Staples, etc. And it's still out of stock to this day. I think it may be end-of-life for that paper/type/color/weight combo. Luckily, my local paper supplier, a Lindenmeyer-Munroe affiliate, found some in stock at their Dallas affiliate that they could have next-day, so I bought 10 cartons (80 reams/40,000 sheets). That should last me a while!

I just got back from the printer. They sold me some cream colored paper they cut to 10 x 11½. The paper is absolutely gorgeous. It's super smooth, but not shiny. The print looks awesome. But I think I need to let the ink completely dry. Still experimenting.
I'd would have loved to get an 11x17 laser printer, but those are seriously expensive.

They are, but when you figure in the long term costs, it's probably cheaper than inkjet. I replaced the toner once in the 13 years I had my last laserjet.

The paper didn't work out. Even after letting it sit for a few hours, the ink will smudge if I touch it.

I use Accent Opaque 8.5x11 28lb. cream colored paper. I'm down to just over one ream. I got lucky back in October and some became available again on Amazon but the supply dried it fast. Any word about the mills going back into production?

The one place i found that seems to have paper in stick is thepapermillstore.com. But their prices are outrageous. They want $45 for 250 sheets of most cream colored paper.

Andy Pastuszak , You might call your nearest Lindenmeyer Munroe and see if they can find it. They really went out of their way to help me. Looks like there are a couple near you. EDIT to add: And the price they gave me was considerably cheaper than I could find online. I was getting my paper on Amazon for about $20 a ream. At Lindemneyer, it was <$12.

Hi Andy
Glad it is working out. In the past I have found the "mom-and-pop" printers to be great. They are knowledgeable and willing to help.

I also sent an email to the local print shop to see what paper they can source.

I may buy some bank pages from him to test, but he charges a lot for shipping.
I really don't want to commit to a paper type unless I know I can keep getting it. Cream colored paper shades change between vendors. So, if you switch vendors, you'll see a color change. Heck, I think you can see that with newer vs older Scott pages.

I ordered some blank pages from albumpages.net to experiment with. The pages were a tad pricey, and I am not happy with the way he packaged them. He took 10x11½ and stuffed them into a USPS Priority mail paper mailer. Then he took that and put it inside a USPS priority mail tyvek mailer.
Well, the pages are 10½ inches wide, so they stick out a little from the mailer. Some of the edges got a little bashed.
What he should have done is place a thick piece of cardboard exactly 10½x11 on the bottom and top and then wrapped the whole thing in saran wrap and then mailed it.
The paper is 100# text, cream colored, and 3 hole punched. But 50 pages cost me $20.50 shipped, so it's a tad pricey.
But I really like the fact that I can fit more stamps on a page. The greater size also lets me fit some miniature sheets I would not be able to fit on an US Letter sheet of paper, so that's a plus also.

Ok, I'm having some fun with fonts and layout. Here is a Ukraine 2022 page completely redesigned with different fonts and a completely new layout.
This is 10x11½ cream colored paper. The hole punches are on the wrong side, because I am printing on the back of the page, since I already printed on the front of the page and screwed it up.
If anyone is interested in the fonts of I am using, they are all open source:

I wonder why Scott did not use standard size paper? Was it because they started making album pages before there were standard paper sizes? Or some other reason? Anyone know for sure?
Also I have a Scott international album (two actually), Part I, 1840-1940, two hole. The pages in these albums are 9 1/4 by 11 1/4 exactly. I also have a very old Scott American album with pages 9 1/2 x 11 1/4 also two holed. In this thread the pages under discussion are said to be 10x11 1/2. Are these exact measurements?
How many non standard sizes does Scott still make and/or sell?
I recently bought a printer capable of printing 11x17. So I can print pretty much any special size I want as long as I am willing to trim them to final size. But I am actually planning to try to feed blank Scott pages through my printer but have not tried that yet. The printer I have is a Brother MFC-J5855DW. Has anyone tried feeding Scott pages with printed borders and holes punched through this printer? or any other printer?

As far as I know, Scott makes 3 different page sizes now:
1. Scott National/Speciality which is 10" x 11½" 2. Scott Internationa which is 9¼" x 11¼" 3. Scott Minuteman which is 9.12"x11.2"
Scott started out with 2 post binders, so they were already non-standard. And when they made their pages, printers and photocopiers did not exist. So US Letter and Legal page sizes existed, but I don't think there was any advantage to using them, since everything had to go to a printer. A printer can print on any size paper, so they just picked what they thought was convenient.
I also recently bought a Brother inkjet that can print on pages up to 11x17 and would like to expand beyond the constraints of US Letter paper sizes. The problem is getting the paper.

I took a trip over to a nearby printer and I'm getting a 500 sheets of 10 x 11½ pages on 67 lb. cream colored vellum that he's 3 hole punching. He cut 6 free sheets to try in my printer to make sure they didn't bleed. Overall pretty nice paper.
I spoke with him about paper and he told me that the only paper he can buy now is white. Nobody is making colored paper right now in any weight or size.

I think I got more than 500 sheets:
These 2 packs of paper are 5 inches high.
Gotta make it last, since he can't get more paper.

Nobody is making colored paper right now in any weight or size. Does he know why? I finally gave up on finding 28lb and bought some 24lb. I found 1500 sheets that were selling for $45; I offered $31 and it was accepted (with free shipping). I decided to buy the remaining 1500 sheets but then the price was raised to $65. I might wait and see if the price is reduced.

The stuff I bought from him today was leftover from a very old job.
