I picked up this oddity the other day on ebay. Not only does the stamp carry a postal cancellation (against regulations) from Gardenville, New York, but the cancelling device used was a money order business handstamp with inverted month and year slugs. 1947; $1 black Snow Geese (Scott RW14)

I do like these "duck" issues as they are a very interesting and attractive collecting area As an aside the logo of the "Department of Interior - U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service" is very appealing to my eyes as well What does everyone else think?

Great series. Thanks for sharing these.
Now I'm wondering if I'm related to the STEPHENS signed on the previous couple stamps.

1959; $3 multicolored Labrador Retriever carrying Mallard drake (Scott RW26)
This was my first duck stamp and, for the longest while, it remained my only duck stamp.

I have the whole collection that I've placed in an album I made myself. The frame one is totally awesome! One of these days I will go back through and start replacing my signed ones with mints.

In my mounds of kiloware and bulk lots, duck stamps are an item as rare as hen's teeth - I never see the things! I have a number of the early years of the Canadian duck stamp equivalents that have been purchased specifically, but I think in all my piles of random "you take what you get" stuff there might be one single American duck stamp there. Clearly an area ripe for expansion ....

The recent years are $15 from the Post Office. I do expect the price to be increased. As you work backward in the years they go down in price per stamp. Since they are issued only one per year I thought it'd be a small collection. Now I'm realizing this collection I have might be worth something, well to someone somewhere not going to be selling it for a while. I drove everybody crazy as I was collecting the stamps. I've taken a break from the album but need to go back and be on the hunt for another year of mints. My OCD will kick in again!

I have the first 6 in the series, then a few here and there, with LOTS of holes between... (and it won't let me add a pic... , this site won't let me do anything, even if it lets me sign in occaisionally.)

I need a little help on how to post an image. I really don't want to use Photobucket or the other places. I have scanned an image and it is on my computer. When I click on the little icon for "Insert Image" it wants me to insert an address. I don't know how to get the address from my picture file. Is there some way for me to add an image to this message?

I need a little help on how to post an image. I really don't want to use Photobucket or the other places.... Proboards has established monthly upload limits and Admin has to buy additional storage space once the limit is reached. We learned early-on that we were uploading more in image capacity than was affordable. Because there is no limitation on images hosted offsite; the decision was made to rely on that means for posting images. Admin has posted a tutorial for using Photobucket. Other sites used by members include Flickr and ImageShack

Oh, okay. I do have an account with photobucket and I'm sort of familiar with the usage. I was just trying not to use it.
Thanks for the additional information.

Okay, If things are correct...big joke for me! Here's Page 1 of my album. NOW, if any of you experts out here see that I'm not doing these pages correctly please chime in. I'm up for all suggestions.
