Personally, I DESPISE the back of book section. If it's a stamp issues by the USPS, it should get a sequential catalog based on the day it was released. Back of Book should be reserved for revenue stamps, duck stamps, and other stamps not issued by USPS.
But I think I am in the minority here.
I hate the way the Scott Catalog is organized in general. If USPS issues a stamp in 2022 that is a definitive design from 2020, but with a different die-cut or microprint, when you look up stamps in 2022, that stamp should be listed there. You can also list it back in 2020 if you want. But I should be able to open a Scott catalog, pick a country and year, and be sure I will see a listing for EVERY STAMP issued that year. I should not need to flip back the last few years to make sure that some old definitve didn't have a reprint, or flip to the back of book section to check if they also printed a semi-postal or some other special kind of stamp.
Of course this problem is solved by using an actual database instead of a book. But Amos can't seem to think like a modern company.
