I love everything about stamp collecting. The beauty of the stamp, cancel or cover. The hunt for the perfect to me stamp. The thrill of receiving that perfect stamp. The excitement of filling that page. The satisfaction of getting that pile of stamps sorted. One thing that amazes me is that I hated history and geography in high school but when I get an interesting stamp I have to research it and find out all I can about it. I have learned so much about history and geography this way. Maybe they should teach history and geography using stamps. Carabop

What I collect: If I have a catalogue for it, I collect it. And I have many catalogues ....

I also enjoy cataloging stamps that are worthless, they relax me even more. I have a similar attitude, to the point where my spreadsheets I am making in my latest attempt at sorting & cataloguing my stamps include a column for totalling up all of my minimum catalogue value stamps. Which I also had in the spreadsheets I made in my last attempt at sorting & cataloguing my stamps. I have great fun rooting though my piles of kiloware and the highlight of the day is usually finding another cheapo makeup rate stamp that is poorly represented in my collection. Minimum catalogue value stamps for the win! ha ha Ryan

I love everything about philately, except philately for investment and sales. Philately is the most powerful anti-stress, it is a combination of culture and cultures that can only improve the individual. I also enjoy cataloging stamps that are worthless, they relax me even more. In short, it is ''quality time'' that we dedicate to ourselves. Thanks Ryan, for linking this. Very well said, could not agree more, the majority of my stamps are worthless, What's better than opening the post box, and a big fat envelope, from somewhere on the planet filled with little bits of perforated paper.

What I collect: US...everything until I decide what I don't want to collect! And now thanks to a TSF give-away I'm adding Space topicals!

Like my ebay biz...I love the CHASE of the hobby. Buying stuff on auction or searching for a specific serial number for a matched set of plate blocks. I then love opening boxes where I might have bought a lot based on one fuzzy picture...oh how I love those lots! They can be quite good...or they can be quite a dud. The organization part I enjoy too. I've decided I am not going with a standard pre-printed stamp album from any of the dealers this time. Nope. I decided I am going to make my own this time. At least I know who to blame if I don't like how the page turned out. I don't know....I think I could go on and on for what I enjoy on this hobby... Mike
