I thought I was the only one who used those little wooden folding tables. That picture almost makes want to stay home from work today and play with stamps.

Sweet. I'm currently working on the Big Blue in my specialized stamp area that my wife insists on calling the dining room table.

Sweet. I'm currently working on the Big Blue in my specialized stamp area that my wife insists on calling the dining room table. What is this "dining room table" of which you speak? I have heard mention of such a thing before... my husband seems to think there is one within our very home, and I have vague recollections of a large, flat surface near our kitchen. That couldn't be it, though - there's no room for such a thing with all of our random books and folders and tote bags and Girl Scouts miscellany and magazines and...

Zuzu, I am as confused as you about these dining room table thingies. My wife says ours has leaves, but surely she means album pages.

I stole the walk in closet off the living room,it's six by six so the old dining table fits fine.I also liberated a shelving unit( former home to my wife's candles) and the pole lamp thing as well.Hope she doesn't miss them cause was definitely made to hold stamp albums with just the right space for mounts box.

Feeder Big Blues and Deep BlueHere's a pic of seven Big Blues 1840-1940 (Albums or Country pages) getting fed into Deep Blue (Steiner) pages- the three ring binder on the front left. Good thing we have a spare bedroom, and my lovely better Half lets me use it- No? Both intriguing and horrifying. Ok, I've got to ask about your Deep Blue feeding method. I'm guessing you have all those BIG Blue albums open at the same point so's you can pick out the best copies of whatever you are pulling out, to put in your DEEP Blue album? If so, what exactly do you do with the stamps that don't make the cut? Do you leave them in the albums and sell them as remainders? Or do you pull out all the stamps and squirrel them away in red boxes and 102 cards? Always been curious as to system one must have to collect in this manner.

Not seen the "big blues" before, do you buy additional pages or do you have to buy them as is?

Spain1850... Correct, all the feeder albums and country collections are opened to the same page, and I select one stamp (or two if a great cancellation etc) to put in the Deep Blue (Steiner) country album. As I am working through the albums and country collections alphabetically- I am presently up to Russia- I still need to retain them. The remaining stamps in the albums and in the glassine envelopes (Many stamps need to be removed from the album to check for watermarks, perforations etc.) are presently just accumulating. Perhaps, I will put together a classic WW 10,000 stamp lot for sale.

I am currently using a Harris Standard album for my worldwide collection (with extra binders). I supplemented it up to 1997 or 1998, but I'm not going beyond that. The thought of trying to keep up with new issues is overwhelming. Besides, I prefer the older stamps to the newer ones, and I find the modern self-stick stamps hard to collect. My intention is to eventually get Big Blue for the classic years and just collect those stamps (plus longer runs for certain countries).
