STEVE...I need your opinion on this friend. Was the design of these particular cancels "set in stone" or did the vary from machine to machine? I'm pretty certain it was struck on a Columbia machine but wondering if Columbia had authority over the specifications of the actual cancellation design or not? Basically I'm asking if this is correctly identified or did I miss the mark?

It certainly appears to be a Columbia but my only reference source is the Machine Cancel finder. The only apparent differences are the combination of city/state on the first line of text and the elimination of 2 lines of the killer. Perhaps it is a later variant than that shown on the Swanson cite.

That along the same line of thinking I had also. Thank you Steve, I'll just mark it as such and move along.
