Saskatchewan Law Stamps late usage for these.1968 SL68-78. Hi, Is there a similar 1948 rouletted issue. I have an older Barefoot catalog that notes it.

Nelson no mention in Van Dam.doesn't mean they don't exist but Van Dam is considered the authority on BNA revenues.

So I guess this is a review of the van dam pages.I do not like the way the Quebec law series was handled. There are four pages exactly alike to allow for the color varieties. Meaning the four colors are on separate pages as opposed to the way I like them all colors of same denominations all in a row.

Are they PDF's, firstfrog2013? If so, it would be easy enough to alter them, or if not just make up your own...

brightonpete back to using quadrille pages for these. Some pages are also very mixed dates so these too will end up on quadrilles.Just as well I'd never in my wildest dreams complete every space provided by these pages.I already screwed up some others .After I mounted another issue I turned the page to find there were three perforations.I haven't decided if I really want to delve in that far on them, but at $75 each on some perfs I better check the ones I mounted.

So just for giggles today I searched for a couple of the MIA's from the Quebec Law stamps. To my surprise they are trading for full and beyond $CV.There are so many issues I neglected when I was building my collection. It was more the case they just weren't available at my locale more than the funds.I found this to be especially true of the five hole officials and semi- postals. Now the revenues crop up in that boat as well.Of course now the prices have sky rocketed and it will come down to funds.I still plan on at least a very decent showing so broke I will remain.

One more treasure found in the Mystery Box, a set of Canadian "Postal Scrips", which I did not even know existed. Can people enlighten me as to their purpose?

These were mainly attached to money orders in denominations of 2c - 90c {Van Dam FPS42-58 } Initially called postal notes then in 1950s to postal scrip They essentially were the cents value of a money order - Money order $5 + 50c postal scrip to be $5.50 total When Post Office sold money orders - dont know if still do

I only have 2 revenues so far. They are gorgeous!
This is SL50 from 1938, the 75¢ orange Saskatchewan law stamp.
Just gorgeous!

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

As I am kind of rambling into the world of Canada Revenues I picked up this handsome 1903 Yukon Law Stamp (Van Dam YL13) along with 3 other more common issues. There are some wonderful Art Nouveaux designs in early revenue stamps.

still a work in progress one of these days I'll get back to scanning a few images again. I've filled quite a few holes in at least the federal issues.

These 1930 George V Electricity and Gas Inspection revenue stamps have been shared several years ago on this thread. These 6 of the 7 in the vermilion colour I was fortunate to pick up very reasonable. I expect I will end up paying more for the missing $1 than I did for this lot.

Another small group of Canada revenue stamps arrived this week. These 1897 gas stamps are quite beautiful. The $1.50 with red control number is the prize of this lot. As I am rather new to seriously collecting revenues I am getting surprised at what some sell for. The 5 cent value in this set is the rarest with a high catalogue value. While looking at sold prices on eBay of this set I see that a 5 cent sold on May 11th for a whopping 990.00 US (1349.22 CDN) with 2 bidders really wanting it.

This clean and fine never hinged set of 1930 George V weights & measures revenue stamps arrived while I was on vacation. I had 3 values that are now duplicates. I see an auction or giveaway of Canada revenue stamps coming in the future.

My walk down the Canada Revenue road had a few dozen make their way to me today. I knew there would be duplicates. These 1913 Quebec Stock Transfer Tax Stamps included 2 I already had. When checking the 2 new arrivals I was looking for the best examples to keep. It soon became obvious, especially on the blue 2 cent ones, that there are major shade differences. I am working from a 1987 Van Dam catalogue where no reference is made of varieties. Possibly a member may have a more recent copy and could check to see if there have been additions. They have no great value so I will keep the duplicates.

I picked up my first George VI Law Stamp this week. I had never seen one in person before so I was not aware of how large they are. I am showing a George V Electricity and Gas Inspection stamp for comparison.
