1898 Universal Exposition Poster stamps from Dijon 1898 and a slightly saucy effort, Paris from the same year. Gorgeous designs and I am sure there are many more out there from these types of events.

I am sure one or two of these have been shown before but as it's the end of the week and soon I'll not be around for some days, here are 4 of those delightful Poster stamps advertising the Annual Carnival at Chalon-Sur-Saone. I have seen a number of sets (?) from other years but they appear never to come cheaply. I can see why !! There may well be other colours or colour combinations to this series.

UPU Congress London 1929 A very interesting sheet from Institut de Gravure et d'Impression de Papiers-Valeur, Paris. Purporting to be issued for the London UPU. Possibly a trial sheet. The depiction of a rhinoceros might suggest a French Colonies link. Probably rare.

Various issues produced for Agricultural Events in 1907 at Lyon (May), Rouen (May-June), Paris (March) and Limoges (June). Apart from ornaments, they depict the cities' Coats of Arms and 'Ceres', the Goddess of Growing Plants who can be found on many Classical French Postage stamps ! Not a complete series and one or two have been shown previously. But these beautiful designs from France have truly grown on me !!

Souvenir stamps from the 1908 Franco-British exhibition held in London. The event was held in West London near Shepherd's Bush, which later became known as White City after the colour of the buildings at the Exhibition. Many different souvenir stamps were produced both by Britain and France. These French types are by Baguet-St.Laurent of Paris. Google 'Franco-British' Exhibition to see some great views of the showground.

Flandres-Artois is in the Nord region This is what is known as a trading stamp. Coop Flandre-Artois was an Agricultural Co-operative Society selling grocery products. Possibly still in existence, now known as Coop Latiere Artois Flandre. Daniel

Two sheets from La Belle France series produced between 1925 and 1932 by Helio-Vaugirard. La Saintonge, Le Poitou 1st L'Angoumois has been shown previously but is shown here in a different colour. I don't think that La Bourgogne et le Morvan has been shown before. It seems increasingly difficult to find complete sheets these days but these were quite cheap.

I am posting here because don't know where else to post this. I received from a seller in the Netherlands a stock book of France (and colonies) stamps today. This was in it. I did a search on line but found nothing. I certainly recognize the likeness!! Not sure what Readers Digest has to do with these

Speculation on my part only, but Readers Digest published several foreign language editions, including one in French. Caudeau Zegel translates to "gift stamp" according to Google Translate Perhaps, these items might have been used to apply to a purchase of a book from the Readers Digest Book Club or to receive a free gift with a subscription or book purchase. In any case they are interesting cinderella items
The French definitive series that these items emulate date from the early 1980s, so that is probably the date of the cinderellas as well.

A very attractive Trademark stamp for French perfume house Violet or Violet to the Queen of Bees. Founded in 1827 in Paris, the Queen Bee symbol was registered in 1857. The company survived up to about 1953 but was revived in 2017. The precise date of this stamp is unknown but it must be from the earlier period and attached to their products.

Societe Francaise de Timbrologie , SFT,was formed in 1874 .In 1916,they issued a series of poster stamps featuring a portrait of General Joffre, with a denomination of 15c.They may have been used as a fundraising vehicle,or simply for publicity purposes. After USA entered the war, some stamps were reprinted with USA in either red or black ink.

Fund-raising stamps for the wounded Military during WW1. At first I thought these might be Delandre types but could not find them in any of the lists/catalogues so they will remain here until more information is forthcoming. Damaged at bottom right but otherwise in pretty good condition.

EXPOSITION COLONIALE , PARIS 1931.One of many Poster & Advertising stamps produced for such events. This embossed die-cut label depicts the reconstruction of Cambodia's Angkor Wat Temple which was a centerpiece of the Exhibition.

[/ur I like this block of four Aviation Days Cinderella depicting an air show held in Vincennes, a suburb of Paris. Dated 24th-25th of May, 1931 almost 92 years ago. Hopefully it will arrive soon safely from South America. Usually I wait until stamps are "in hand" before I post them here, but I am likely to forget or misplace them and then I'd never get around to sharing them in this thread!
Ideally I search for such labels (Cinderellas) on cover, sometimes "tied" by a cancellation..... but they are much scarcer than just the individual labels. Either way they fascinate my philatelic mind!!!

Another Lottery ticket with a stamp. This one depicts the Insignia of First French Army during World War II, Rhin et Danube. So, this ticket must have been for a related charity. Issued in 1949.
