The middle stamp, a 6p yellow, green & ultramarine with map of Western Samoa (Scott 227) was issued July 2, 1962. This 15c black & ultramarine stamp with map of Reunion was issued in 1917 (Scott 68). The design was used for a total of 16 different denominations between 1907 and 1928 (Scott 60-70, 112-113, and B1-3), five of which were overprints.

...But wait, James...you're all crying out! Jimjung already posted that stamp, on the previous page! Ahhh. But did he? As long as we're on the subject of Newfoundland, here is the 2c rose carmine stamp issued in September 1908 (Scott 86) and the 3c orange brown stamp issued May 12, 1937 (Scott 234).

KirkSLovely scans Captain, May I enquire as to the scanner and dpi you employ? I use a Canon Scanner that plugs into the USB port. It's really nothing fancy. I like it because it takes its power from USB, so there's not power cord. It scans up to 1200 dpi, but I typically use 600. Some of these are my stamps -- some are other people's that I saved. I have a folder of stamp images that I use as rotating wallpaper/backgrounds on my computer. I don't do any "fancy" editing, but for wallpaper images, I like to use the Auto Level for color and contrast to give them a bit more "pop" on the screen. The SAMOA below is not mine; it's one I saved from online.

Ryan shared the 1e value of this Angola stamp previously (Scott 389); this 5c multicolored, perf. 13.5 stamp (Scott 386) is the lowest denomination of an eight stamp set issued in August 1955. Here are two from British Guiana that haven't yet graced this thread: the 4c black & rose, perf. 12.5 was issued in 1938 (Scott 232); the 5c black & red, perf. 12.5x13 was issued December 1, 1954 (Scott 257).

I have a number of maps on stamps. Here are 3 from my collection. I'd put more up, but I want to head outside for a post-dinner bimble. Different varieties, I need to sort the entire series out! And I JUST noticed this one is already up! Oh well...

Rarely do we see maps on stamps showing the geographical growth of a nation such as this stamp from Greece (Scott 359)

Collecting maps on stamps is a great way to look at the growth of a country geographically as well as looking at older maps. Added these 2 to my collection this week.

Collecting maps on stamps is a great way to look at the growth of a country geographically ... It can also remind us of some of civilization's darker moments. This 5 centavos, bright green, perf. 13 stamp depicting a map of Manila Bay showing Bataan and Corregidor, part of a two stamp set issued by occupation forces in the Philippines, commemorates the first anniversary of the fall of Bataan and Corregidor (Scott N27; May 7, 1943). The other stamp in the set was a 2 centavos, carmine red of the same design (Scott N26).
EDIT: As luck would have it, I also have the 2 centavos in my collection.

Thought it would be fun to show my Ottawa duplex cancel on a Map Stamp......the pleasant thing, besides its history, duplex hammer being supplied by Berri (of London,England) in 1860, is the fact that I gave it away to a good stamper friend in Norway who has "special interests" in postmarks Having gone through this thread, I realize that the Map stamp has been shown twice.......but not with such a postmark.......as a newbie to this Forum, I might have been a little bit "off" subject - Apologies !
